Realize I need to change my training around a lot if i want to keep getting stronger and put on some size but fight consistently and maintain conditioning. Judging by my posts you’d see that im a proponent of the westside methodology but really its not westside but rather ME,DE, RE and using special exercises and assistance work to bring up weaknesses. I dont train at westside therefore I am a westsider.
But I’d appreciate any ideas/ articles/ opinions/ etc on how to structure my training.
Im thinking perhaps strength training twice a week and conditioning the rest of the week. Strength Day and a speed day. so for example…
ME Day:
ME- Bench, ME- Squat, Assistance for both (2-3 exercises)
DE Day:
DE- Bench, DE- Squat, Assistance for both (2-3 exercises)
Not sure if this is too much in one day.
alternative example would be to mix them:
1:Speed bench, ME squat, assistance for both
2:speed squat, ME bench, assistance for both
i dont know if this is a good idea or what… like can i still get strong with just that? I know its primarily my eating that will put weight on but will i be optimizing my relative strength gains still?
days between id do conditioning, complexes, bagwork, rowing, running, etc.
New goals(for fighting anyway):
-
fight 12th, 26th, may 10th, hopefully i get matched up for each event.
-
Thai Boxing Association tourney: july 11-14th. Can’t wait, get my first ammy belt.
-
jiujitsu, 3x a week.
-
american gladiator tryouts
Maybe’s:
- TUF tryouts… apparently they’re april 10th, but I’ll just have to hope this season is welterweights and next time is lightweights. LW division is STACKED so i dont think they’d be recruiting them right now, but when they do smile
