Should be a good World Series. I think I might give the edge to the Cardinals because I think their pitching is stronger and are really good and hitting with guys on base. That plus they are in the NL and i’m an NL guy.
what a fantastic catch and on-field demeanor by Beltran
(maybe gifs are already up, but I wouldn’t know where to look)

That’s true.
Though I’m more surprised the Yanks didn’t match the offer

The Mariners were in dire need of some talent and Cano just may have gotten the best of the deal. It doesn’t look like anyone came even close with another offer including the Yanks.

WOW!
This is a shock. Seems a little too soon but he was definitely going downhill fast.
There will now be fines and suspensions for plate collisions.
It’s always huge pussies like Buster Posey that have to ruin it for everyone.

It’s probably 2 years too late, TBH.

Agreed, block the plate and expect to get hammered. The runner should have just as much of a right to get to the plate as the catcher has to block it. You get one of these stocky catchers up there and a slide won’t even move them out of the way.

He apparently was planning a comeback with the Jays but his Fastball was sitting somewhere between 82-86 so he called it quits.

Yeah it’s really up to the catcher. If he doesn’t want to get hit he can give up the plate. That’s just the way the game is played and there have not been near enough injuries to warrant a rule change.
Derek Jeter is retiring at the end of the 2014 season.
Derek Jeter retiring after 2014 season.
I’ll go on record and say the Phillies signing AJ Burnett is a horrible idea. I sense a 4+ ERA this season.
The days of ripping on fatty sandoval
and Sabbathia have come to and end
Damn CC looks almost anorexic in that first picture. You think he’s worried about losing his ace spot to Tanaka?

I don’t know, Raj. You tell me. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
