Not a bad thing.

Merely that the majority are spoiled, entitled and largely uninformed (and thus undeserving of sporting success) - that was the original claim.

Quite honestly, this surprises me. I would’ve figured most SF Giants fans would not have time to regularly watch baseball. Too busy trying to figure out which gender they belong to.
Your level of ignorance and bigotry never ceases to amaze me. It’s not a whole different than if I asked you every time you made some comment about baseball if your particular caste allowed for watching sporting events.
Heh, you guys are in a good groove right now.

That’s a pretty ignorant claim for someone who doesn’t even live in the Bay Area to make. They show up in droves to the ballpark to support their team. They show up at a rate that far surpasses all but a couple of franchises and are as loud and supportive as any ballpark in the majors, if not THE loudest and most supportive. What about that makes them undeserving? What, they’re undeserving because what few Giants fans you’ve run into didn’t sit well with you?

I take it that you feel that whatever team it is that you root for has a better fanbase, based on some entirely arbitrary, unverifiable criteria you’ve come up with? Talk about entitled…

^^ Of course I’m making sweeping generalizations here, but I was in the bay for undergrad so its at least n = 20.

And I’ve since seen more than enough on/off bandwagoning with both Giants and Niners “fans” for it to go unnoticed. Not even Athletics and Raiders fans are like that, go figure.

No one jumps on the bandwagon of a shitty team. Go figure. I’ll take the Giants/Niners fanbase over a bunch of A’s fans too poor to even go to the game or a bunch of Raiders fans, most of whom are either in prison or recently released from it.

If you want to make a bunch of sweeping generalizations that are based entirely on your narrow experience, fine. I lived in the Bay Area for 29 years, and I know a LOT more Giants and Niners fans than you do. So if your experiences carry some weight, mine carry even more. End of discussion.

You’re going to feign moral indignation? Really? You of all people?

Just a few pages ago you cracked jokes about RA Dickey’s history of being sexual molested. I believe you called him a pussy.

So no DB, I see right through this veneer of compassion you present. In this respect, you and I are two peas in a pod. You have a Sith heart just like me.

As mentioned earlier, only if we were still talking garlic fries.

Otherwise, my stance is more-than-a-little informed while yours is as (understandably) biased as humanly possible.

In other words, there has been no actual discussion for awhile now.

Jesus Christ.

JA Happ just took a comebacker to the head. Sounded and looked horrible.

He is FUCKED

Of course my statement is biased. Obviously yours is as well. How else to explain a statement along the lines of “a majority of Giants fans are entitled, ill-informed, etc, etc.” when you do not live in the Bay Area, are not in regular contact with the majority of Giants fans and will never be able to verify that claim anyways? What sort of discussion is really possible when you start off on that sort of foot?

First of all, every single one of the adjectives you have used to describe Giants fans is entirely subjective in and of themselves. Secondly, to what degree those “qualities” hold true for the fanbase as a whole is entirely subjective. You’ve made a blanket statement that can NEVER be backed up by anything other than your very limited, narrow opinion. The same holds true for what I have said, but I think it’s safe to say that I am A) not as biased as you are about Giants fans since I have NEVER said anything remotely all-encompassing about the entire fanbase like you have, nor would I, and B) I have been in contact with an infinitely more varied and representative cross-section of the Giants fanbase.

So, instead of “end of discussion”, end of whatever it is you are trying to troll for here. Congratulations. You got me, hook, line and sinker.

Oh and FYI - I’m a member of the top caste. Endogamy FTW.
Where did I say in that post that I held myself above the painfully-low moral threshold you’ve set for yourself? Of course I cracked jokes about Dickey’s sexual history. That’s how I am. In what way did I feign compassion in that post? Projecting a little bit, aren’t you?

In all seriousness, that really sucks though.

Down the RF line.

He will be released from hospital today.

Pretty cool: One of the Jays top prospects steals home in AAA.

Still waiting for the arrival of Billy Hamilton to the majors.

Raj hasn’t played a single inning of competitive baseball at any level in his entire life. That is why he resorts to numbers. That guy is exhausting. I’ve watched you guys go back and forth for a couple years now and I have no idea how you’ve managed to stay sane (assuming you are of course). How he manages to completely misunderstand and misconstrue what has been said is amazing.

Anyway, Braves @ Giants coming up tomorrow, thoughts? Also, what are your thoughts on the McCann/Gattis/Laird situation? And when is Kimbrel going to realize he can’t go with the heater every freaking pitch?!

I’m a batshit looney toon, so Raj doesn’t bother me all that much. I like his bullshit. It reminds me that no matter how down I get on myself sometimes, there are always people doing FAR stupider shit than me.

My only thoughts about that series are that I hope the Giants’ starting pitchers can somehow figure out what the FUCK they’re doing, because they have collectively looked like shit. Only their league-best bullpen (lowest ERA in the NL) and a surprisingly effective offense (as in, not one of the worst in the NL) has kept them afloat this far. The Braves’ lineup is fucking legit and will really make the Giants pay if their starters continue to make egregious location mistakes. None of the ones who are struggling are injured or losing effectiveness; they’re just not making pitches when they need to, which has usually been the hallmark of the staff.

By the way, hey RAJ! Did you see Zito’s line today? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Barry Zito: 2.79 ERA
RA Dickey: 5.36 ERA, and climbing ever higher!

LMAO on the Angels and Dodgers. Keep spending money and keep sucking some more.
