How can some of you even doubt the Phillies right now? I have nothing to say that hasn’t been already repeated in here. 3rd straight WS anyone?
What kind of fan would even think about bragging about APPEARING in the world series. Your team actually won it 2 years ago and you think its becoming to announce that they simply MADE IT there the next year. That’s a failure.

Bragging about losing. That’s rich.
When’s the last time your team won a WS? Uhm, okay I understand you being butt hurt.

I’ll be at Game One of Phillis-Reds and I predict Halladay holds them to 1 run over 8 innings as the Phillies win 4-2. “Lights Out” Lidge allows one run to score and lets the winning run come to the plate just to make it interesting before closing the game out.

I think it will be a Phillies-Yankees rematch in the World Series.
Even better

?

I could understand the pirates celebrating winning the pennant. But youre bragging about winning the pennant the year after winning the WS. Sort of a buzzkill there.

No need to argue. I’d like to see Halladay throw 6 no hitters this postseason and then punch Burnett in the face so it rubs off.

I like the Giants’ chances over the Phils. They still can’t hit for shit, except for the rogue 10-run outburst every once in a while. But they’ve always hit Oswalt well, Bumgarner, Lincecum, Cain and Sanchex can all outpitch Hamels most days of the week, Blanton isn’t going to outpitch any of the Giants starters either, and Halladay has never pitched in the postseason before. Neither have any of the Giants starters except Zito (who sucks cock and probably won’t start any games in the postseason), but their top 3 starters can all pitch with Halladay on their best days. It’s going to take some luck on the Giants part, but they’re used to the pressure now. As good as the Phillies are, the Giants have been playing nailbiters every night since the All-Star break. They’ve probably played in more one-run, low-scoring games in Aug/Sep than Philly has all year.
No one can pitch with Halladay. On any day. Ever. End of story.

Damn, the Twins suck.

Props to the Doc, that was a very impressive pitching performance.

I think impressive is an understatement. Its only the second time its ever happened. And its against the team with the most hits, hrs, etc. Ws attitude.

<3 U 2!

If only Lincecum, Cain, and Wilson could hit as well as they pitch.

Sports fan that haven’t seen the Brian Wilson interview on Jim Rome, watch it NOW. Any player who pulls out a gimp mask and an 1980’s cell phone during a live interview is beyond legit in my book:

Get a room you two.

I thought the twins were for sure the dark-horse this postseason… They are going down like the damn Hindenberg.

Wasn’t a no hitter, but I’ll take 14 K’s and a complete game win from Lincecum.

implying that they don’t play in quadruple-A aka the AL Central
implying they have the hitting or pitching to take on the yanks

Yea man he pitched an awesome game. If i hadn’t seen halladay pitch that no hitter id say you can’t pitch any better than lincecum did, he’s a fuckin stud.

Not to sound like I am belittling 14 Ks, but the Braves looked pitiful last night. The fact that Lincecum got out of the first inning unscathed is a testament to how undisciplined the Braves were at the plate.

Instead of getting work done this morning, I spent a little time fucking around and found this comparison of Halladay’s game vs. Lincecum. Again, I am not taking anything away from Lincecum’s performance, but given how much he was struggling to find the strike zone, I can’t understand why the Braves didn’t take more pitches.

And Halladay’s.
