We’ll see how the Minor League(NL) Phils do when they have to play a team from the Major League(AL).

I have no reason to beleive that the yankees, who won 10 more games in a much harder league and also in the hardest division are going to lose.

yankee fans on T-Nation, come out. dont go running and hiding now. this is an example of a true loser.

Lol, I’m not hiding. Nor am I a Yankees fan.

Yes, the phillies won a game behind Lee, whom I said would be thier best chance to win a game.

Last time I checked it’s not a 1 game series, loser.

So your excuse is we won behind lee. Lee kept the yankees from scoring…but we did bat in 6 runs my man. Whats the excuse for that?

I’m not making or offering excuses. I’m just calling like I see it.

wow what a lucky game by the yankees. ump didnt know what a ball was, and if you dont agree youre an idiot who didnt watch the game. luck. phils in 5.

Utley got burned by the umps all night. But the saying goes that you can’t let the umps decide your fate. They were consistent with their generous strike calls. Burnett just chose to take advantage. The nature of Pedro’s style means that he generates more swings from the batters, thus leaving less for the umpires to impact.

What Burnett was doing was not lucky though. You’re a typical uneducated fan from philadelphia. I can guarentee you didn’t know dick about the Phillies before they won their division a few years ago. You’re clearly someone who jumped on the bandwagon. You have no real knowledge or appreciation for the game. Calling either game lucky is simply ignorant.

The only thing lucky in the game was that the Phillies even scored one run. That ball is in Arods glove 9.9 out of 10 times. [/quote]

lol, where were u yesterday? and because he didnt call balls all night thats ok? youre dumber than i thought. oh and ive been a fan since birth and was at a ws game when i was 8 in 1993. im sure i wont see u again in this thread after sunday. youll hide like you did yesterday after the phils embarrassed the yankees 7-0 (the phils gave you 1 run)

I didn’t see the game at all because of work, but it sounded like another pitchers duel. Pedro seemed to pitch better than most on here thought he would. Now it’s back to Philly where the Phils have a one game advantage as far as homefield goes. Go Phils and go NL!

I didn’t know I was expected to post directly after every game. Lee pitched great. It was a pretty boring game to be honest. What was there to talk about. I don’t make up rediculous reasons for why a team loses.

Was the umpire consistent or not? If you think not, then you have an argument. You’d be wrong but at least we’d know your train of thought.

Being a ‘fan’ (no 8 year old knows what they are watching) for over 20 years means you should understand when a team gets a lucky break to win a game and when one pitcher completely outpitches the other. I didn’t hear you saying the Phillies got a ‘lucky’ win last night. The umpire blew a few calls in the 8th inning. It’s called baseball, not luck.

A lot better than I thought he would for sure.

Good for him as well. He definately pitched a good game to watch.

I was surprised by how good both pitchers were. Still, as a Phillies fan, I’m totally fine with a 1-1 split of the first two games. They are going to have to get 2/3 in Philly, but I think it’s doable.

I thought that should have been scored an error.

Wow. That was a tough game to watch. Not only were the bats quiet, but Burnett’s delivery was enough to put a person to sleep (and this is coming from a person who has watched Moyer pitch on a regular basis). Had either team really hit well the game would still be going on!

I’m disappointed that the Phils did not adjust their approach at the plate at all. I can understand taking the first pitch the first time through the line-up; particularly given how wild AJ can be. But when it became clear that Burnett had good command, they needed to become more aggressive. Given Burnett’s wicked curve you simply cannot let him continue to get ahead in the count. Pedro gave the Phils every chance to win that game and the offense could not get it done.

Now we have to look to Hamels. Eek! I know he has the stuff to win, but he has been a complete mental case this entire season. At least Myers would get angry and hit his wife like a real man. Cole just whines and stomps around the mound like a little bitch. Time to find your balls Cole, the team needs you!

Thank god we get back to NL play for 3 games (I can’t stand watching AL games). I can’t wait to see how Girardi handles the double switch! Should be a great series in CBP.

“Handles the double switch” Lol what?

First of all it’s not complicated at all and rarely has a profound impact on the game.

Second Girardi managed in the NL for a year and played in it for 11. I’m pretty sure he has an idea of how to manuver players with double switches. If anything Girardi is better suited to manange an NL game because the absence of a DH means there is less leeway WRT to how quickly he can burn through pitchers.

Do NL fans really think that their manager has an advantage because they use the double switch more often??

Why so angry?

I never said it would have a profound affect, but an NL game is managed differently. The concept of the double switch is not difficult, but knowing when and how to use it is.

Then again, perhaps you’re right. I mean Girardi has done a great job managing his bullpen this whole post season. That must be why Joe is so beloved in NY.

I’m not angry at all. Far from it. Just because I don’t litter my posts with emoticons doesn’t mean any of this stuff upsets me. It’s the internet. It’s virtually impossible to interpret tone. Anywayy

About 20 minutes ago Maunel annouced Blanton as the game 4 starter. Lee will pitch game 5. He also said that game 7 would fall on Lee’s bullpen day and that Lee would be available out of the bullpen.

And Girardi isn’t really loved in NY. He takes a lot of heat for the moves he makes. More than ever this postseason. People do like him though because of how genuine he is. He’s a good guy that people want to see win. Much too robotic though, for the taste of many people who’ve been watching baseball for a while.

I guess it is difficult to interpret tone in posts. It’s called sarcasm. I am well aware that Girardi is not well liked.

I didn’t see the ‘post season’ part. The sarcasm is quite obvious now lol. My fault.

Sabathia vs. Blanton game 4.

Thoughts?

Oh, man, Phils rolled over last night. The top of their lineup needs to wake up quickly.

They desperately need thier top RBI man to do something.

Theyve lost once and I was out that night. I posted the next day. Shut the fuck up.

It got awful quiet in here. I dont see you saying anything about the others who’ve been posting. Nothing is more annoying than jealousy.

I’m on the road. I missed the freakin game last night but I’m glad I did… Phils need to get their shit together for sure. Yanks were on.

Now, let’s talk about that GIANTS game
