They aren’t Cubs fans, though. Half of them are fucking tourists or go to Wrigley just because it’s Wrigley and sport a Cubs shirt.[/quote]
Exactly. If you could only get into the ballpark with an Illinois driver’s license there would only be about 11,256 fans a game there.

Have you ever heard this postgame interview with Lee Elia, former manager of the Cubs back in the early 80’s? It’s possibly the best soundbite involving baseball in the entire existence of soundbites. It’s fucking awesome!

My fuckin’ ASS!

Rip them cocksuckers!

I hate the Dodgers’ guts, but I gotta admit, I love Tommy Lasorda.

Skip to the 3:34 mark to hear Lasorda really start going off! He starts sounding like Joe Pesci in Goodfellas or Casino about 30 seconds in. It’s absolutely hysterical. The whole video is an invaluable lesson in the multitude of used for “fuck” and “cocksucker”.

Well the Giants game i went to was actually about five years ago and it was interleague against the A’s. There were a good amount of A’s fans there.

I don’t care if Wrigley didn’t have authentic Cubs fans there or not. They were all dressed up in Cubs gear and it was like a non stop party all around the ballpark. All of the streets were closed, people were drinking everywhere, playing games in the streets. I just loved the whole atmosphere around the game. Best time I ever had going to a ballgame.

A’s fans confound me. They kill the atmosphere of any game they show up to outside of the Coliseum, and when the Giants play the A’s in SF there’s always at least 7-8,000 fans there, which is several thousand more than what go to their own home games.

Next time you get a chance to go to a game in SF, hit up Momo’s on the northwest side of the park, across the street. I was so hammered and pissed after a Giants loss in the playoffs in 2000 that I threw a ball through a 6th-story window across the street from Momo’s patio, which I was drinking Singapore Slings on. It’s that kind of party there.

Jays signed Scott cousins.

He’ll come in handy when the Jays face the Giants next year.

I don’t know who this carpenter guy is but that was one sweet swing he out on the ball.

Looked like something created in Hollywood

Wasn’t a horrible pitch, caught a little too much of the plate though.

Man, the Giants are fucking getting it handed to them tonight. All hands on deck tomorrow.

Cheering for SF tonight so we have some baseball the next 4 days

Maybe we need a rematch with St. Louis. Either way the Tigers are in the World Series after humiliating the Yankees so it’s good already.

I fucking HATE Joe Buck and Tim McCarver. How in the fuck do these two soft-brained inbreds have a job at all, let alone this one? Could they hide their obvious love of St. Louis any more poorly? I mean, I know that Buck’s dad was the Cards’ announcer for forever and McCarver played most of his career there about a century ago, but how about a little professionalism?

It’s bad enough that WE have to listen to Buck ramble on like a half-drunk senator in the middle of a 36-hour filibuster while McCarver manages to mangle both the English language and his analysis of the most basic elements of the game at the same time.

But think of all the children growing up whose memories of playoff baseball during their childhoods will be marred by the fact that Fuck and McCocksucker have provided the banal soundtrack to those games. If for no other reason than the children, those two jerks should be yanked off the air and tied to the bottom of a Predator drone flying over the outskirts of the Swat Valley.

Jesus Christ, McCarver just showed how stupid he really is. He just listed off a bunch of the Giants’ scouts while crediting them for improving the minor league system and getting a bunch of homegrown players on the current team.

Except that among those scouts he named Pat Burrell! Pat Burrell IS a scout for the Giants, but in name only. That fucking douchebag doesn’t shit for the Giants except run up a bunch of bar tabs and Plan B pill purchases on the Giants’ tab. The guy is a goddamned libertine, which I like, but if McCarver knew one fucking thing about the Giants or Pat Burrell he’d know that Burrell’s position is bullshit in terms of actual value to the team.

You hatin’ ‘cuse they makin’ dat cheese and you envious to the bone, dawg.

Honestly DOH, I hate Joe Buck. You’d think a guy with a pretty prominent commentating gig like Buck would have other announcing talents that compensate for his incompetance in calling baseball. But the fact is, he’s actually more unbearable calling football games for Fox.

Fuck the Giants and fuck Joe Buck.

But fuck all that noise. How about Zito?!?!?!? It’s FAR too late for him to make up for his embarrassing ineptitude during his Giants tenure unless the Giants somehow get to the Series and he does this again and the Giants win it all. Even then, he would have to be the Series MVP to really make people forget about the fact that his fat fucking contract has hamstrung the Giants’ budget for the last 5 or 6 years.

But he looks really good tonight and I honestly didn’t think they had a chance against the Cardinals tonight. They’ve absolutely pounded lefties this year and Zito looked bad against the Reds, who aren’t nearly as tough against lefties. His curveball has looked really good tonight.

I think what makes the difference with him is whether or not he has good control of the curve that night. When he can consistently spot if for strikes early in the count and down below the zone late in the count while also changing speeds by as much 7-8mph with it he’s a lot tougher. It makes hitters have to respect that pitch a little more and the fastball looks quicker as a result. He HAS to make the fastball appear quicker since it’s pretty much a dogshit pitch on its own merit. The changeup is a good pitch for him as well, but when he gets that big hook going it has a much more drastic impact on the relative velocity of his fastball than the changeup does.

He could go the distance tonight. OH FUCK! Sandoval goes yard! They need him to get hot if they make it back to SF. Posey looks cold, in the words of Tommy Lasorda, the Cardinals are probably going to send a fucking limousine to the hotel to make sure that cocksucker Pence gets to the field and into the lineup for Game 6 because they’re shoving it right up his ass the whole series, outside of that homerun last night.

Pence is lost at the plate. He’s looking offspeed and getting dominated on the inner half with fastballs half the time and the other half he’s looking fastball and flipping a slow grounder to second.

Of course I hate the fact that they makin’ dat cheddar. It seems like every dumb motherfucker in the universe is getting paid a boatload of cash just to BE the dumbest motherfucker in the universe. How the hell is it that I can’t get in on this act?

Yeah, so fuck Joe Buck, fuck the Eggles and Fuck. You.

edit: wait, do you mean the NY Giants or the SF Giants. If you mean NY, I take the fuck you part back. If you mean SF, a double Fuck You to you, good sir.

I’m a little unfamiliar about pitching rotations. Why isn’t Bumgarner starting?
