Military Food Nutritional Info?

I’m a civilian contractor that’s been contracting for a couple of years now. I love the free/very decent gym’s available at every base, but I’m having difficulty in making a science of my nutritional intake due to the fact I’m on these bases.

I’m wanting to add on some size, which is difficult because if I sit still for 20 minutes I’ll lose weight.

That prefaced, I’d like to know if anybody knows how I could find the nutritional info for the food served at our chow halls? I’ve asked around, but the average contractor (and unfortunately a large part of our modern day Army) is closer to a coronary than they are knowing their caloric intake.

Any of you guys happen to know this info?

thanks.

dewd so easy!! i am 1 year out of the air force and a civil service employee,

just ask the cooks, or manager for specifics, and packaging, but when in doubt just stick to the basics:

proteins:
chicken
tuna
peanutt butter
cottage cheese
yogurt

carbs:
potatoes
breads (wheat types) only white after lifting)

and so on and so forth!!

Just ask the managers of the chow hall the questions!! they should be able to help you!!

Trying to add on size shouldn’t be a problem, just eat tons of food. If you were trying to lose, that’s another story.

hrm… yea… asking for the packages is a good idea, and probably my only option. was hoping there was a website or info available on who the companies were that made the food/etc. there’s not a LOT of food, but it’s a lot to be digging through all the packages - but hey, just has to be done once! thanks for the response.

not a prob, also ask who they get their food from? They sometimes go through certain venders for items and that could help you to find out specifics through the internet or something else?
