Mikhail Koklyaev Obliterating Minds in Glasgow

thanks for the reference IrishMarc
it’s kinda hard to appreciate his true size from pics and videos, partly b/c he doesn’t have that showy type of build like some guys. But seeing him stand next to you at 5’11 230lbs (which aint small) but he’s nearly dwarfing you!!!

Mikhail is great ambassodor for strenght sports, along with incredible strength feats, he’s got such charisma and a way with people that makes you love the guy.
thanks.

Is that back jerk some kind of record - he certainly looked most happy about it. What’s the most weight any human’s been able to put overhead in a full rom exercise (rather than just a partial or a lockout)?

J, M & J. Dude’s a freak.

He doesn’t need to be drug tested, he needs to be tested for being a human.

I am pretty sure it is impossible for someone with two human parents to lift that overhead. There has to be some gorilla in that mix or something.

I suspect this is one of his parents.

Hard to say since it’s not an official lift in any competition. All I know that shot putters who use glide technique can often show big numbers in this specific movement.

The rumours tell that Werner Günthör and Udo Beyer would have done something in this same range as their records, but I don’t think there is any actual proof of it. Filming training videos just wasn’t their top priority although there is quite great video about the Swiss’s methods in the youtube. (Préparation Physique) where he also does some jerk behind the neck, but never goes for the 1 RM.

For the latter part, I don’t know were these performances done only in partial movement or without a lockout. But I think some olympic lifters can do even more, since this is easier to do than from the shoulders and it can also be done with wider grip.

holy crap, that 190kg snatch looked like a warmup…I liked the one legged scratch while holding the bar overhead still

Redic as always.

Between him, big-z, and all the american competitors, worlds is gunna be a damned close contest.

Lalas is my pick for WSM.

300kg x10 EASY squat.

190kg a hand farmers RUNNING

100kg DB for like 8 reps.

The polish contingent this year is brilliant aswell

I hope it comes back to europe.

Cant hear or understand a thing , its a shame

This makes me laugh because of the awesomeness. Kinda like The Expendables.

King of Kings. Freak of Freaks. Guy is simply amazing and hands down my fav athlete of all time.

I’m not sure what impresses me most. The weights he moves or how easy he makes them look. I’m excited to see the guy go to worlds this year.

I think Misha is the most impressive all around strength athlete in the world.

I don’t think he is as brute force impossible strong as Zydrunas (440lbX5 standing press and 430kg deadlift) or quite so gifted at yeti reps as Poundstone (everyone I hope has seen the 800lbsX9 and almost 10 cause that was awesome), but Misha could walk into a powerlifting, weightlifting, or strongman contest and hang with the best in the world period, I don’t think there has ever been a human being who could do that in this way.

These fucking impossible strongmen all have a shot to take the raw deadlift record soon I think, they just seem to keep shooting up with amazing speed Zydrunas isn’t even that well proportioned to pull with arms that short and a belly which is regularly filled with a unicorn he kills and eats each morning for mass and he just hit what, 2.5kg under the raw record with belt, straps and no hitch?

Goddamn it I love strongman.

Misha is also had some good success in highland games I think he got 20’ on the weight for height but the implement wasn’t an official implement.
