Whats up guys, just wanted to get some input on pros and cons of microdosing every day. I’m 7 months into TRT, microdosing 84mg a week of Test E split up into 7 small shots of 12mg. I know a lot of guys roll with EOD or so, but I’m wondering if there’s any reasons that’s more optimal than a 7-way split. The reason I went this route is because my prior TRT experience a year and a half ago, I was pinning every 3 days (100mg/week at that time) and getting big peaks/troughs and felt like shit and ended up stopping. So I restarted with a slightly lower dose and pinning every day.
I feel good the majority of the time and I don’t mind sticking myself daily at all. I do rotating shiftwork so I literally never have a clue what day it is, so if it’s a part of my daily routine in the morning, I know i’ll never forget it. Sometimes i’ll get some mild anxiety/insomnia and just skip a dose and things will normalize. I’m wondering if this is an effect of my 7-way split dose and I should try EOD or if it even matters at all and it’s something unavoidable.
I’m currently getting new labs done because my last set of labs had biotin-interference and threw everything out of whack (thanks for that insight, systemlord), although my Free T was 85, that might’ve been biotin-interference too and I also have High SHBG which was my initial reason for going on TRT in the first place.
I’d be interested to see what your labs look like. This is a awfully low dose.
Assuming this is the first dose you have been on in 7 mos since starting?
Yes, I just sent my blood/saliva out so I’ll post in a few days. My total T prior to TRT was 758 (I’m 40) Free T was very low due to high SHBG. My set of labs a few months ago had me at Total T past 3,000, high E2, Free T 85, but i was also taking B6 supplements so I’m sure it’s all out of wack. Hopefully this set of results gives me something solid to work with. 100mg a week had me awake all night several nights a week and my Resting HR was unreasonably high. It’s possible im a hyper-responder and don’t need much.
I would almost think at 84mg/wk your total test will be lower than 758.
Have you had any bloods since starting? Are you doing this yourself or under a doc/clinic? I would venture to guess self or clinic since it would be tough to get a script with your T levels natural.
Yeah I’m doing it on my own, the nearest clinic is 2hrs from me, and have been using letsgetchecked for a full male sex hormone test. Last test was end of march when i had those strange results (I was 2 mos into TRT) and i wanted some time to pass continuing the dose before i tested again and made a decision on how to proceed next as far as dosage or frequency
Edit: 4/2 Labs (2mos into 84mg/week) w biotin interference
Lab Date 4/2
Total Test: 3140 HIGH (Ref Range 249-836)
SHBG: 53.50 NORM (Ref Range 17-53)
Free Androgen: 203.66 HIGH (Ref Range 25-98)
Free Test: 85.8 HIGH (Ref Range 4-24)
Cortisol: 0.47 NORM (Ref Range 0-0.7)
Estradiol: 65 HIGH (Ref Range <45)
Prolactin 22.8 HIGH (Ref Range 4-15)
So this is without biotin interference, 12.5mg a day (so actually 87.5mg/week, my math was off)
Total Test: 1332 HIGH (Ref Range 249-836)
SHBG: 51.1 NORM (Ref Range 17-53)
Free Androgen: 90.45 NORM (Ref Range 25-98)
Free Test: 26.9 HIGH (Ref Range 4-24)
Cortisol: 0.53 NORM (Ref Range 0-0.7)
Estradiol: 37 NORM (Ref Range <45)
Prolactin 22.8 HIGH (Ref Range 4-15)
