Michael Moore - Terrorist

If you wanted to destroy the greatest country on earth, would you attack it with guns and bombs? Hell, no! That’ll just piss 'em off. Instead, convince them that they are all evil or fools. Teach them that the USA is an out to screw the world. Make movies that convince their children how awful we are. If only the we would listen to Ed Koch (former mayor of NY) and what he had to say about Michael Moore. But he’ll be ignored and that lying pr**k Kerry will get elected, with the help of Michael Moore – Terrorist.

LOL – good one!

free speech is a bitch

To be honest, I’m not one of Michael Moore’s biggest fans, but your post is a gross oversimplification of Moore’s work.

Farenheit 9/11 is propaganda, no doubt. It doesn’t criticize the America people as much as it’s leaders, and furthermore, suggests that the American people were duped. While it can be interpreted as implicitly calling Americans stupid, that’s only one opinion, one that isn’t really supported by the rest of the movie.

Cheers.

Umm, no offense, but sometimes it doesn’t hurt to have a little humility, even if you are the biggest military might on the planet.

I’ve had conversations with people during my travels in the US and they come out with comments like “they have to respect us” and “they should fear us” because “we are powerful”. Yep, that’s friendship and respect in the making.

Oh well. Michael Moore might be a twit, but criticism and reflection are good things. I mean, the US is a great country, but it is really just that, another country, in the grand scheme of things. There are a lot of great countries in the world.

gross oversimplification

Something a grossly oversimple mind does with ease. You have not read what Moore has to say about the terrorists that attacked us, obviously. He lost a close friend in WTC, and has some pretty strong opinions as to what should be done with those guilty.

As Joe Bloggs said, Moore’s biggest contention is the pathetic manner in which our leadership responded.

Michael Moore is a briliant, natural born leader

some of us obviuosly haven’t heard how michael moore thinks osama should be dealt with. He thinks that Clinton had the right idea treating al qaeda as a law enforcement problem and sending cruise missiles to blow up a few sand dunes. That was the real pathetic response. The only thing these people respect is boots on the ground coming to kill them. Sending cruise missiles alone said America doesn’t have the stomach for a real fight and encouraged them.
Moores film is a sign of the times. Where our politicians create a villian and then try and play the hero who goes after them. It’s the same thing that is being done to steroids and prohormones.

Do you realize that your screen name is a complete contradiction to the level of intelligence you display in your post?

Clinton actually did more to deal with the OBL problem than the Bush admin ever did, until 911 forced them to pay attention. Only a Cspan geek like myself would probably know that though, because I watched the commission hearings tirelessly, and memos were released that showed clearly that Ashcroft refused to listen to any more warnings about the so-called terrorist problem.

Clinton’s strongest warning to the incoming administration was that OBL was the most dangerous man alive, and that intelligence efforts needed to be taken to capture or kill him if possible. Again… IGNORED. Before you make completely ignorant comments like your post perhaps you should brush up on current events just a little bit.

Michael Moore is a terrorist? Because he has a point of view different to yours? Much better to slavishly accept what you are told by your leaders. Better still, lock up the Michael Moore’s of this world, aye? If he is a possible terrorist, you could use the Patriot Act to put that sucka away without trial. Yeah, get that terrorist bastard.

Vroom,

We lead the world in more than just our miltary size there bud. We lead just about every element of human advancement on the planet. Not that we are counting.

It frankly surprises me how god damn jealouse other people aroud the world are. Does america threaten you that much that everything you post on here is trying to tear us down a little bit? You always come up with “the opposing viewpoints” as you put them. Guess what the US is the greatest nation in the history of the world and you like to oppose it. What does that make you?

Vegita ~ Prince of all Sayajins

Vegita, you attack Vroom for having a different viewpoint. You call him jealous (by the way, spelt without an ‘e’). So what does that make him? A terrorist too? Better kill him.
As Vroom also stated, I believe America is a great country. So does that mean it cannot be criticised? You have massive social problems, drugs, a hugely variable education system (the spelling and grammar in your reply is proof of that), high crime, appalling gun murders, and a foreigh policy which some people disagree with. Only by constantly scrutinizing yourself can you make your country greater. Gloss over your faults and America will eventually fall, like the Romans. This, incidentally, is where people like Michael Moore play an important role. Sure, he sensationalizes things and has an extreme viewpoint, but he brings important issues to our attention. Michael Moore loves America- that’s why he is trying to save it.

Does anyone think this country will exist in it’s current state in 50 years? I don’t think we’ll be the badass country we’ve always been. I think short-sighted greed and selfishness will destroy us.

To call Micheal Moore a terrorist is missing the point. Just becuase his point of view is different from yours doesn’t man he is tring to invoke terror, which would be the definition of a terrorist. His new movie is nothing but slanted propaganda that has slivers of truth but nothing really substantial. Like everything in the media it should be taken in, analyzed and then decide on your own point of view. But let him have his that’s part of living in this country

Further to your note, I would like to add that the people who allegedly hijacked the planes were on US soil way before September 2001, but the FBI went silent on them, despite being notified about their dangerous presence in the US.

If you read his books and see his movies, then you must conclude that he thinks we are a nation of uncivilized barbarians. We are blatantly racist, homophobic, and more interested in violence than in educating our children. There is nothing uplifting in his movies or books. He ignores our magnificent achievements and focuses on our faults. Here’s an analogy: suppose a student from the local high school is caught robbing a convenience store. Now someone spreads propaganda that all students there are criminals or fools, and the principal is obviously an incompetent liar and cover-up artist. He was in a classroom during the robbery, so obviously he’s just a STUPID WHITE MAN.
That’s how MM smears us. That’s why I call him a terrorist.

We lead just about every element of human advancement on the planet. Not that we are counting.

Do you now? There may be some folks in your country that can do these things, but the vast majority of your population is composed of ill educated patriotic braggarts that don’t know and don’t care about anything the rest of the world has done, is doing or can do.

Blindly chanting “we are the best” will leave you shocked and surprised at some point down the road when you have been deemed inconsequential. Do you know how many skilled workers your country imports to help it achieve the things it does?

Again, before you take me wrong, America is indeed a great country, and I love it myself and have lived and worked there. However, it is simply another country filled with plain old regular human beings with all the faults and problems of every other human being.

You may have more money and you may have more might, but neither of these things makes you great. The only possibly thing that can make you great is living up to the ideals that your country was founded upon. The rest is an illusion that will always be in danger of fading.

Listening to and thinking about criticism offered by various sources is one way to maintain improvement, otherwise sitting at the top you will become complacent. Maybe that has already happened?

Just remember, about 230 years ago there were a group of men who were outspoken critics of the government. They lost trust in its leaders and spoke out against its unjust practices even though it was the most powerful and economically prosperous country on earth. Their names were Washington, Franklin, Jefferson and Paine.

Peartmath, it couldn’t be MORE obvious that you have not read even ONE book written by Michael Moore! He praises the country constantly. He also gives a lot of very promising statistics about Americans. He just happens to strongly disagree with our current leaders. He has NEVER referred to Americans as uncivilized barbarians, you moron! Well, he may refer to you as uncivilized (or at the very least unscrupulous), but that is because you will tell blatant lies to “illustrate” your point.

Okay, this may be off topic. However, before you back up your argument by picking up on vegita’s spelling error, perhaps you should check your own. “Spelt” is not a word. “Spelled”, however, is.

I might be wrong “aboot” that though. Things are a little different up north, eh?
