LOL so he died from being a vegetarian for all of 5 minutes?
WTF are you talking about? If you think stuff like this you must have not even the most basic understanding of health, disease or anything much at all.
This is FAR more ignorant than blaming steroids like some would.
How’s the view up there on your high horse?

Just calling you out for talking complete BS, it’s no biggie.

Just because someone is vegetarian does not mean they are eating healthy. Granted, I don’t see even the worst of diets causing his issue in such a short time.
Just don’t equate vegetarian with some pristine plant-based diet, cause it’s usually not.
I do not at all, so stop putting words in my mouth.
Saying that within a couple of years of being vegetarian someone has had a fatal heart attack and that is the ONLY explanation is laughably ignorant.

I like your posts in the Supplements section, would you mind if I made a thread? Sort of along the lines of a how do you train? thread but how do you eat? (and why, recommended books, etc). I think many would be interested, but might require some effort from you and dunno if you would want to.

Re-read what I had written.
I never said the ONLY explanation. I said the beginning of his problems, or exacerbating problems (he already had).
The 2 hardcore vegetarians I personally know are fat (and have been getting fatter over the past 10 years), and terribly negative people. Do you know the hormonal mess vegetarianism can put you in? If it’s easy for one to find fault in steroid use and it’s subsequent hormonal balance issues, then it’s only logical to assume that vegetarianism and its hormonal balance issues are an equal culprit.
anybody stop to think that maybe the REASON he went vegan was due to “high cholesterol” or “clogged arteries” and his doctor told him to stop eating meat because it kills (lies). but it was too late and the atherosclerosis caught up with him and caused the heart attack he had in july.
Guessing at the underlying cause of death at this point is, at best, pointless, and at worst, spreading gossip. The LA Times is saying that the coroner won’t be doing a formal investigation due to his “previous heart issues”, so who knows what more info we’ll ever learn.
He seemed like one of those guys who made it big in Hollywood and still remained genuinely friendly. Funny in Talladega Nights, lovable in Green Mile, and I actually liked his role on tv’s The Finder.
This pic is from '06 or '07, but I’ve read that he was most recently a purple belt in Gracie Jiujitsu. (And if it means anything, Ed O’Neill is supposedly 6’1" and those two Gracies are both about 6’3".)

lol!
And their names are usually Vanity, Vagina, and Vegetarian!
They live longer than us for a reason. I am sure Duncan had some prime “meat” during his career.
Honestly chances are in 2009 he was advised to cut weight and clean up his diet. Being in Hollywood he went Vagetarian cause its fucking Hollywood and also chances are that nothing short of a total bypass would have fixed him.
His damage was done probably from both, environment (what ever that be diet, supplements etc) and heredity, he was an African-American with probably diabetes and hypertension in his family. I would bet his father probably died at a young age also.
And to clarify, I think it is funny a medically trained professional suggests a hereditary pre-disposition but instead people want to blame vegetables though it certainly could NOT have reasonably been aggravated by steroid use.

Sorry man, but this is just complete BS.
Unless I am reading you wrong? Are you comparing vegetarianism to steroids in terms of causing FATAL hormonal problems?
People here have gone FAR too far in the pro-steroid camp to counter act popular media ignorance.
No point getting into a debate about defining “health” or whatever, but the truth is people are more likely going to cause FATAL (which is what you are saying) health issues from steroids than eating a vegetarian diet.
Just to make clear: no I am not a vegetarian, and no, I am not particularly anti-steroids.
A handful of people. No need to play semantics, it is pretty clear.
While I’m sure you will continue looking for opportunities to say “gotcha” and I guess I can appreciate that, just know the advice you were giving snizzle on his bulking diet was weak and off the mark and get over it. My participation in that thread was to steer him right and you just happened to be wrong, its ok though. It happens.

Dude, lol what’s your problem, how does any of that have to do with this?
As for snizzle, it’s asinine to think that telling someone to follow a plan, monitor and adjust is not good advice.
Sometimes people just die. When I go I hope it is abundantly clear that it was the booze strippers and blow from that current evening so as not to leave any questions about whether or not the broccoli did it.
