Michael Clarke Duncan Dead

I met him at a Clippers game years ago. I know he was 6’5", but he seemed a lot taller from the way he was portrayed in Green Mile. RIP big guy.

Weird you say that, my brother also met him at a clippers game he said he seemed more around his own hieght of 6’2. Probably related to getting older/ media exaggeration to make him seem taller, he said he was built like a powerhouse though

They clearly exaggerated his height in Green Mile for dramatic effect. There’s no doubt he was a big unit though. RIP.

Yeah, in The Green Mile they had a special risen path for him so he could tower over Hanks and David Morse, who are both over six feet themselves.

Media saying he was around 6’5 300lbs, which is completely untrue. I don’t know how anyone could think he was actually that big by looking at him in interviews and photos, especially when he’s next to his fiancee.

RIP MCD.

Take Ving Rhames…he’s apparently 230 to 240 lbs and 6 feet tall. That’s about the same as me (6 feet, 250)…but I think Ving just looks damn well bigger. And certainly meaner.

Radio this morning said he became vegetarian back in '09 and did some spots for PETA

Too bad he died so young but he got a good run in his second career after what could have been a much more premature death.

Yah gotta wonder if there is a connection some place

He had lost a ton of weight in the past 5-10 years after that Dare Devil movie. He was lately seen around only 240lbs. While extreme weight can lead to high blood pressure and a host of other issues, for someone to jump to “steroids” is a little ridiculous.

I would assume that his recent drastic weight reduction was health related…so it may have been he was sick for a while and it simply was not public.

That’s equally as lame as blaming as bodybuilding diet for his death.

I ment maybe a connection to a disease like cancer or something. Not the lifestyle switch.

If it’s true he became a vegetarian, I’d bet his health problems either began at that point, or were exacerbated by the dietary change.

Or he simply had a genetic component of heart disease, he could have had unknown to the public, hypertension, diabetes etc.

I was thinking he got a disease that would start a massive 180 in his thinking. And he went for treatment and the first thing they said was become a vegetarian. Like lots of natural path places do.

Either way we lost a good actor.

This is what I was getting at.

The presence or absence of meat has no bearing on whether a diet is healthy. Body composition sure, but health?

If he’s eating a diet comprised of rice, vegetables, nuts, lentils, protein shakes and healthy oils would you still blame his diet?

It’s basically the same thing the anti-meat people are doing.

Basically you have no real reason to suspect that his diet in the last 3 years contributed to his death anymore than his diet in the first 50+.

LOL so he died from being a vegetarian for all of 5 minutes?

WTF are you talking about? If you think stuff like this you must have not even the most basic understanding of health, disease or anything much at all.

This is FAR more ignorant than blaming steroids like some would.

Was said he also had a heart attack back in July

Just because someone is vegetarian does not mean they are eating healthy. Granted, I don’t see even the worst of diets causing his issue in such a short time.

Just don’t equate vegetarian with some pristine plant-based diet, cause it’s usually not.
