Metallica Black Album Tour

They are probably my favorite band, and this is god damn hilarious.

My favorite band until ‘Load’; then, they became mediocre. That’s what pissed me off the most about this band.

Plus, the way they treated Jason Newsted was a crime. ‘And Justice for All’ would’ve sounded a hell of a lot better if they didn’t mute the bass so much. That concert was awesome, though.

Not a single mention of And Justice for All…for shame guys, for shame. I remember walking into a defunct Sam Goody store when I was 11, hearing them blasting this album, not knowing what it was, asking the guy at the register what he was playing, slamming $26 bucks on the counter, ripping open the plastic, putting the cd into my sony diskman with no ESP for the first time, and blasting it until my ears rang.

I cherished this album, still have the cd without a single scratch on it.

DAM YOU HUNGRY…

and justice POUNDS, if you have a system, too bad it’s 1000% from the drums and not Newsted. Dyer’s Eve, the track that everyone thinks is a waste of 5 minutes, shattered the rear window in my car more than once.

Justice was the best for me, I saw the tour. The way they treat Newstead was terrible. They actually had stickers made up that said “Now with more bass!” and would put them on copies of Justice and then wake Jason up in the morning by tossing said CD’s on to him. But James and Lars are assholes. My buddy is the drummer for Trouble and he’s an old friends of Truijillo, and he’s told me some stories about those guys…

Good songs, but needs to be remixed.

And anyone claiming an album other than Master of Puppets as their best is crazy for real.

My buddy and I bought MOP when it came out and we listened to it in his moms AMC Concord. When ‘Battery’ came on, we looked at each other and were like ‘HOLY SHIT’ and listened to the whole cassette from beginning to end in the car.

Ah memories…

The Cliff Burton days were their peak IMO…

Battery is the only song I ever liked on MOP…I think Ride the lightning is a better album. Will repeat MOP all day in work tomorrow.

Is it wrong that I liked the S&M album?

It is wrong.

Justice is my all-time favorite album. I drove my best friend crazy in high school because it stayed in my car stereo for a couple months straight, and I was the only one with a vehicle. And he loves the band.

MOP is a more complete album (although “The Thing That Should Not Be” is a dud), but Justice just seems to have more raw energy.

Songwriting wise - …And Justice for All is probably one of the best albums. We use it as a litmus test when writing new material.

“Its not bad… but its not ‘Justice’…”

“Shit, how is it then?”

“Hmmm… Painkiller.”

Re: Black Album tour - Meh… we can do most of the album in our sleep it seems. Pass.

Also, keep in mind that the Black Album was the first one with Mr. Motley Crue. Uh, I mean Bob Rock. Now you know what started the downhill slide…
What happened to Flemming Rassmussen?

I can’t tell too many, but…If Cliff hadn’t died they were gonna fire Lars. The Black album took 9 months to record just the drums. Because Lars has totally lost his skills by then.

Pfff. NEVER mention Motley Crue in the same thread as Metallica.

He still produces. He was one of our options for the last record we did. The reason we chose not to go with him is because there was a flood or something in his original studio (where Metallica did their work) and he moved somewhere smaller with all different gear. Fuck that.
