Can someone recommend a good brand? It has to be mercury free. I was thinking of using Carlson’s myself.
As far as I know, almost all fish oils tested by Consumer Reports were mercury free. Mercury is water soluble, not oil soluble.
I’m thinking of picking up some Kirkland Signature (Costco) brand fish oil sometime this week, but don’t take my word for it alone; I’m fairly new to oil supplementation.
I’ve tried 6 or 7 brands (including Kirkland), and Carlson’s is by far the best.
I personally don’t believe that capsules keep the fish oil inside fresh enough.
In Consumer Labs testing, mercury was not a problem among the brands tested, but label claims and freshness were.
