Good question. After the hurting they put on russia it seems like the Finnish coaching staff gave Russia a lot more credit than anyone else did. If the Slovacs played a two way game it would have been a much different story.

Yeah got that one wrong. Hard tournament to call, I mean look at the US upset, the Slovac upsets, and Canada blowing out Russia. Not to mention Jonas Hiller of Switzerland being a thorn all tournament long.
Called the Slovacs giving Canada way more trouble than expected. Pavol Demitra will remember that shot his whole life. I think the Fins are out of this now though. They had gold in their sight, as teemu and company have already got the silver and bronze. Slovacs have way more to prove in terms of being for real, and so many of the vets who won’t be in Sochi probably want to end with a medal. We’ll see who shows up mentally tomorrow for this one though.
