Great fucking DL. I see you were wearing the inzer suit. I’m working in a Metal now but I don’t like it so far. I like to pull in my Metal briefs under my singlet. Just to give you an idea of how far ahead you are on the DL, my total right now is 1800 and only 600 is DL. I weigh 242 as well, so you should be very proud of yourself. I’m gonna try to yank 650 in a week at an IPA meet here in Ohio but we’ll see. It’s a full meet so I’ll be spent.

Great job.
The only thing I would recommend is to try pulling with your arms perpendicular to the floor. That way you can start the pull in a more upright position and have less distance to pull. Also too, if you move your hand space closer (to get into the perpendicular arm position), you can move your feet directly underneath you. You should be in a more mechanically advantageous position. 600 will be cake.

Ah excellent advice! Thanks I will try that tuesday on my workout ![]()

Or widen you stance to more simulate your squat, where you hands will be on the outside of your thighs, but anyway damn good pull.
Congrats!!
Btw, what’s the point of ply suits/shirts wraps and all that? Don’t they just help? So how does that help show the persons strength/ why not just drop the weight a bit and lift raw? or is that not how those suits/shirts work?

yah i really like the max dl i havent tried more than 550 raw but the 584 was about the same as the 550 raw i would say it gets you 20-25 but who knows!? thats a sick all around, i would target a 1500 or so but i have never trained heavy squats or bench, good luck!

Mostly i feel more consistent in the deadlift suit… but also i feel it is a little safer it helps me feel tightened up and my lower back hurts less when i use it than when i go raw i feel it improves my form by default…
Gear adds a level of complexity that many lifters, myself included, enjoy. Using supportive gear, like most aspects of strength sports, is a technique puzzle that each lifter has to solve for himself. Gear does not give you anything. Rather, you must affirmatively “take” from gear. This is true with everything from wrist wraps to the custom fitted multi-ply bench shirts and squat suits. I encourage to try to solve this puzzle yourself. It’s damn fun.

That’s probably one of the best responses as to “why wear gear” that i’ve ever heard!
I can’t wait to get into the crazy world of equipped lifting.
