And the FDA is there to protect the profits of Big Pharma to help make sure the tests don’t happen. Until Big Pharma can make a profit from it, it will be resisted. Meanwhile the public suffers.
You’re basically relegated to 1 of 2 ways, ingest or inhale. For medical purposes the recommendation is USUALLY ingest as the effects are easier to control (ie, THC labels) and having MJ smoke in your lungs isn’t healthy (duh).
In practice, it usually depends on condition. You’re more likely to see someone smoke when the cause is anxiety or depression, because the type of high is different/more controllable and much easier to get small amounts of. You’re more likely to see someone injest/oils when the cause is something akin to cancer.
Things branch out further when you’re looking for discretion, do it in a group setting, etcetc.
Despite people like me? Okay, chief.
I stated above that I think it should be legal for recreational use, which also implies that I think it should be legal for medicinal use. What I am suggesting is that studies continue to be carried out so we can make accurate statements about the benefits and risks for treatment of specific conditions, as well as appropriate dosing and potential side effects.
I’m not sure. I smoked it once, when I was 19 or 20 and in school. I didn’t care for it and have never had any interest in learning about it. I highly doubt there are any benefits that aren’t offset by negatives(e.g., it may help some with anxiety by generally dumbing them down).
I would prefer that substances be legalized. Deeming something “medicinal” seems to just be regulation(that is, prohibition) by another name.
Ya, I tend to agree with you on this topic. People are going to do it regardless and something like Marijuana doesn’t seem to be any more (probably less) dangerous than even alcohol.
Then, I apologize for any confusion. As far as studies are concerned, who would do them? The dosing protocols are already being done via the medical marijuana community.
No benefits huh?
Congratulations. The first sensible thing you’ve said.
I’ve only said this directly to you like a dozen times, Jesus…
Symbol Qty Last Price Chg $|% Mkt Value Total Chg $
CBIS 10,050 0.0549 +$0.011 551.745 +110.55
Dang! Wasn’t expecting that today. It’ll probably go back down before too long though.
No you have not, Jesus…
And this means what, overall?
Thats a ticker.
Symbol: CBIS (Cannabis Science)
QTY: Quantity 10,050 shares

Market Value: $551.745
Total Change $: $110.55
You ignored what I said. Congratulations.
@NickViar I understand that you don’t have much experience with this and your opinion on the matter, but I think anyone who doubts the benefits of medical marijuana simply hasn’t done any research on the matter, and hasn’t known anyone who takes and needs it medically. There is 100% no doubt whatsoever of the countless benefits and extremely minimal risk of medical marijuana.
Minimal risk?! Haven’t you seen that egg on the fryer this is your brain on drugs commercial!
One puff and you will be addicted to heroin the next day. Gateway drug? More like a warp speed tunnel
If you don’t mind substantial increased in DUI’s, traffic deaths, school suspensions and petty crime.
Sounds like bad stuff. What do alcohol and tobacco related issues look like? Can’t tell me we wouldn’t decrease some of that stuff by banning them as well
Pretty sketchy stats I’m guessing when you dig deep. Here we have some stats about this stuff but no idea what all we can tie to marijuana. Cartel profits down as another bad thing. Killing the economy!
"The definition of “marijuana-related” in the Rocky Mountain High Intensity Drug Traffic Area report makes it difficult to draw conclusions from the traffic fatality data, which were drawn from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
However, it isn’t clear whether the increase was due solely to marijuana, because the Colorado Department of Education collects data on drug-related suspensions and expulsions in general, not those particular to marijuana."
“Johnson was wrong when he claimed “marijuana-related” traffic deaths, hospital visits and school suspensions in Colorado have “not significantly” increased. All three have. What we don’t know is whether marijuana use is the cause of the increases or, if it is to what extent.”
Create jobs and bring in tax revenue for something people are going to do or put people in jail and everyone pay taxes for their food drink lawyers and the need to be guarded for something they are going to do?
I’m never going to get high regardless and don’t think is a positive health choice for vast majority of people but how many hands in a row on the war on drugs do we lose before we think about folding and trying a new game?
Fatal car crash… drug that causes decreased reaction times in the blood of the driver. We can’t say there’s a relation or causal relationship.
Okay.
Alcohol and tobacco are seriously bad news. Especially for vulnerable people. Not that pot is any worse, but don’t pretend it’s harmless.
