Forget all the ‘eat big, goddamn you!’ and ‘lift heavy, goddamn you!’ advice.
Obviously, the key to any changes in body composition lies in the nutritional strategy. However, I have yet to see anyone dish out grocery shopping or meal prep advice.
I read somewhere about using a vacuum food sealer, which I will start doing.
So, my question is, can some of you tell us how you prepare your meals? I keep hearing that you spend a Sunday afternoon cooking either all meals for the week or two nights a week to prepare them all, then use tupperware and freeze everything, microwaving when you need to eat.
Is there any more to it? Any key points you have learned about shopping for stuff or preparing stuff?
I eat a lot of quick stuff, fruit, protein shake, chicken sausage, chili, salad, cheese, nuts, and yogurt. Then I cook dinner a couple times a week and make large portions so I have leftovers.
I get up about an hour and 10 minutes before I need to leave the house everyday (beradi calls it the morning ritual.)
First I cook and eat breakfast (eggs bacon etc…) Then I prepare my meals for the day. I already have veggies (either cooked or raw) and meat ready to go.
I cook meat/veggies at dinner time and will cook enough for a few days. If I run out I will use canned tuna/lunch meat or use protein powder.
I take a cooler to work with an ice pack… I pack everything in tupperwear. (I have a microwave at work, but I usually just eat everything cold.)

That’s what I do. Some meals I do cook ondemand but most the time I cook in bulk. Check the archives for articles by John Beradi, he’s written a few about meal prep and grocery shopping.
