So who won?

Overextended home owners

Did Israel send troops to Afghanistan or Iraq? Noooooo.

Israel is worthless to the United States. Seriously, fuck Israel.

Israel could not send troops to Iraq or Afghanistan. They would mobilize every jihadist in the area to fight our allied efforts. Smartest thing they could do was stay out.

If they get bombed I say we back them up, because they are our ally and that’s what allies do.
You do realize that our close ties with Israel is what helps to mobilize Jihadists against the US, right?

Israel may be our “ally”, but what does that entail? Taking our money and having us watch their back? What a great relationship.

Best question so far!!! Would we wait for UNSC approval before moving on Iran if they were to attack Israel.
Oh boy oh yeah!!! Best question!

What is with people’s blind and unwavering dedication and loyalty to a country that does nothing for the United States?

It had nothing to do with Israel simpleton, it had to do with whether the UN would dictate our military policy. Go play with your Tinker Toys before you hurt yourself.
The UN gets more trivial every day. The sooner the UN realizes it the better, and no better way than us doing the right thing while they talk in circles. And yes, helping our ally is the right thing. Who cares if they “don’t do anything” for us, not that I agree with that statement, they are historical friends and are a free democracy that deserves our help.

Yeah you’re right, it had nooothing to do with Israel. You’re voting for McCain, I don’t have to insult your intelligence as your vote speaks for it.

I know it was early but it ruined the entire debate for me. That flippin climate change. These freaking people cannot even make up their minds whether it is a changing climate or a warming globe.

Yeah right. As much as I hate to say it, George Bush is right in that they hate our way of life and will come up with any reason to hate us. Were Iran to nuke Israel off the planet do you think that all of the sudden the middle east would want to be our buddies?

Only one of many excuses/so-called reasons why extremists hate us. Abandoning Israel would not make us any safer at all.

LOL@hate our way of life.

You’ve got to be kidding me. Do you think the jihadists are just making up reasons when they tell the US to get the fuck out of the middle east or that our ties with Israel is what drives them to hate us? What reason would they have to give a false reason for hating the US? I mean really

I’m having a hard time telling if you’re serious or sarcastic here.

Are we supposed to believe that Iran will acquire nuclear bombs and a reliable delivery method (stealth fleet or accurate missiles) within the next four years? And if that’s not enough, you want us to believe that Tehran will then have nothing better to do but proceed to attack Israel, a nuclear power with one of the world’s strongest armies (courtesy of the US taxpayers).

I’d appreciate it if you could take the time to explain to me how this quasi sci-fi scenario constitutes the “best question”. Seriously.

Hey we agree on something. Israel is a strategic ally in that region and for that reason it is in OUR long term interest to maintain that relationship. You do not make geo-political policy based primarily on whether it will aggravate your enemies which isn’t the same thing as saying that you should go out of your way to promote antagonism either.

The UN is utterly useless to us and should have been ejected from our shores decades ago.

Brokaw won!

“Gentleman, if this keeps up we will have a larger deficit than the federal government”

How could you not love that?

All I cared about was what they would say about UN influence in our international military decisions.

lol false reason? you know that a large portion of middle easterners don’t believe the 9/11 hijackers were saudi and were instead american and israeli? reason has nothing to do with it.

America is their “great satan”, Israel isn’t even recognized by most governments there.

I couldn’t agree more and even if it were a reason… tough shit. I’m not willing to let psychopathic jihadist fanatics dictate my foreign policy.

I’ll type real slow this time and enunciate thoroughly just for you.

My viewing it as the best question to that point had nothing to do with Israel simpleton, it had to do with whether the UN would dictate our military policy.

We are OUTTA business pal. If we are going to have both parties competing for socialist brownie points it’s over. Mccain must be senile. He decries spending outta one side of his mouth and proposes a huge mortgage plan outta the other.

I fear this country has no future if liberal and ultra liberal is the best we can do.
Sloth wrote:

my question about that and the whole “taxpayers as investors” thing, is that if my “investment” yields a return, are they cutting me a check? hmmm methinks no
