Mayweather a Punk

I have some great memories of his post fight interviews. Watching PPV Boxing wouldn’t be the same without him.

One thing I’ll say - the guy knows boxing history, no doubt, and he’s got the resume… but the game has passed him by at this point.

He says things sometimes that I’m just sitting there going, “WTF does that even mean?”

He should have retired about five years ago.
i like merchant too, but his thoughts seems disorganized now…he is slow to respond and talk. I don’t know if he is drunk, or just the signs and symptoms of an 80 year old brain are catching up to him…

When was Merchant organized and quick witted? He annoyed me back when Tyson had just won the championship. I am not even sure I think he has gotten worse. I always wanted him to shut the hell up. My take is that he is at his least intelligent when he is trying to be profound. Mis-quotes, bastardized literary references, poor allusions to history, the guy just grinds on me. And he has done so for a long time.

Didn’t he used to be a newspaper man? Should I read some of his stuff and see if it is ok?

Yea Ortiz was headbutting the whole fight and then tried to kiss mayweather at one point before he got knocked out. Who wouldnt swing at this kid when the ref said start and he was still trying to blow kisses to mayweather

agreed with the two above posts. Ortiz/mayweather was a mismatch. With exception to the few rounds ODLH actually used his jab, I have not seen Mayweather get hit clean period in a fight in the last decade or so.

as I stated earlier, the only two fighters out their right now who can match Mayweathers skill and talent are either two big (Sergio Martinez) or two small (Pac-man)

NO way Martinez can cut down and make a weight the Mayweather would agree to, hell, I think Martinez might go up to super middle weight, I have heard he is having more and more difficulty making 160 as of late, and NOBODY at 160 wants to fight him.

lets face it, Pac man is a blown up light weight, FLoyd will eat him up.

^ Ehehehe

Yeah. I really don’t see Khan having a chance vs Money. That could be an interesting fight though.

DarkNinjaa, I’d like to fight you. Get a kiddie pool and some baby oil. Let’s go!!!

Mmm… that sounds quite tempting…

Problem is, I don’t use oil for fighting… oil tends to soften me…

Maybe vaseline?

Nah…

Don’t worry, that’s just the way I want you. Not to worry, you won’t get bruised up. I don’t bite…much!

Okay… stop right there… damn… what you wrote what kinda hot… shit…

Anyway, this thread was about what again?

Yea there’s not a whole lot of guys for him to fight. Cotto? Margarito? Both are too slow and won’t connect. Clottey doesn’t throw punches… the welterweight division isn’t very deep at the top.

May fought DLH at 154, and that would be the only weight Martinez could come close to, but he’s not young and I don’t know that he could make it.

Maidana would get killed, maybe, maybe Khan could put on a show for a few rounds, but he doesn’t have the skill to keep up the whole fight either.
ya, I watched an interview with Sergio, when asked about a fight with Maywheather, he said the only chance that could possible happen was if it was made at, like you said, 154, and he (Martinez) said he has not made 154 in “10 years”

You. You look stupid.

Clearly you can’t see why taking anything said on the internet to the real world is immature, hence why you look stupid.

My age is up in my hub, it’s not being hidden, and yet, you show the maturity of someone a hell of a lot younger than me.

Children, successful career, I’m guessing a house (possibly paid off mortgage)… and he challenges internet warriors to mortal combat. LOL.

We obviously haven’t met, allow me to introduce myself: “I don’t give a fuck”.

I don’t know how you talk over across the pond to each other, but we don’t do that here where he’s from or where I’m from. He knows it. I know it. He aint defending it, you are. Says more about you than anyone here.

And how’s the school system over there? Not strong on reading comprehension? Mortal combat? I said I want to hear bitch with my own fucking ears. And if I hear “bitch”, you’re fucking right about one thing…I’ll get real fucking stupid. Maybe you do know me after all.
my 2 cents about the thread… didn’t think it was cheap at all… I’ve personally had various athletic endeavors all my life and as long as its within the rules I believe its fair play and should be taken advantage of. Would I have acted the same way… I can’t be sure… sooner or later I would have let a punch fly because you can’t be sitting in a live match forever without punching someone(especially with time winding down on the round)… them being ready to block a punch or not(or I’d assume… I’m no boxing expert/competitor). And I’m sure GSP would have done the same if the public didn’t give him the do no wrong persona that he has grasped and happily abided by to secure if fame and fortune… in sports you do what gets you paid… while avoiding what gets you fined.

Now TBG… I will happily call you a bitch to your face(sense you believe no one will) if you’re willing to drive here(upper new york)… not going to take time off from my work etc… for such an activity so its on your shoulders.

I can only assume you believe you’re intimidating and I should worry about saying such things… I won’t its OK. I do feel conflicted though… because you also are pushing the extremely honorable angle in this thread specifically… and I assume with you being such an honorable person especially at your age… that you wouldn’t let some random person saying bitch to your face lead you to fighting(unless you really feel that emasculated which would be quite impressive sir). But if it does I assure you that you’re welcome to retaliate… but I also expect that you will not attempt to hit me until I’m fully ready to fight… at that point we can proceed.

tl:dr - It wasn’t a cheap shot imo… TBG you’re acting dumb on the internet and I’m willing to call you on your shenanigans.

And long with my 2 cents, you have 4.

Your opinion that it wasn’t cheap is noted. Do however note there is a lack of consensus there. The divide is pretty large, so your opinion or mine is pretty fucking meaningless.

GSP EARNED his reputation. Believe it or not, good guys, that compete with honor and sportsmanship, who conduct themselves with “class” do exist - they are just exceedingly rare in today’s society.

If you’re along the NY State Thruway this Friday, I shall grant you that opportunity. No more discussion there is necessary. Let me know if I should PM you my number.

wow.

TBG is right and wrong here.

imho

true…challenging people to fights over the internet is stupid, i did it once, and i have regretted it since.

also, I think TBG and myself are pretty much the same age, and I think the personal insults and name calling while safe and anonymous behind a keyboard is a phenomenon our generation just will not get used too.

I have accepted that it is just a norm of society at this point, but I still do not like it, though I realize I am impotent to stop or change it.

Well… he was exaggerating then because he fought at 153.5 two years ago when he fought Cintron.

The first fight with Williams in 2009 was actually his first at middlweight, so I’m not convinced that he couldn’t get to 154 again… although it may be beyond his reach, as overnight, some guys just can’t hit the weight anymore.

Happened to Mayweather himself in the fight against Marquez - 144 catcheweight, he came in at 146 and gave up a few hundred grand because of it.
shit, your right, I forgot about that fight.

well, I think he is over 30 now, and I think he said he walks around close to 175-180, once you are “mature” lol, I dont thing 30lb weight cuts are any good for you.

Mosley almost knocked mayweather down last year in the latter rounds. Floyd has a reach advantage over pac but I don’t think it matter. We have seen pac go against taller nd bigger guys, it didn’t affect his style.

btw maidana should have at least tied against Khan. If it wasnt for a (fluke) early knockout by Khan there is no way he would even get the decision…he was literally hanging by the ropes in the last 3 rounds or so. I like Maidana he can do some damage against anyone.
