Hey MattyXL, where in the lift are you failing?
How about ramping 365 then to 405?

Yonkey,

The fail is at the approach I only get the bar up a little, I also think im psyching myself out. I am gonna try what you suggest on my next DL day. I thought I had it yesterday, I felt good. Oh and BTW, love the avatar, one of their best albums!

Matty - I have been waiting for you to DL 405 since you mentioned it a couple of pages back. Based on what i have seen, your DL #'s, your rack pull, etc… looks like a done deal. If the ramp change doesn’t work out for you, maybe some DL speed work, or additional quad work is in order. I know you have mentioned some injuries, does this contribute to you getting “psyched out”. Injuries suck ass. I’ll make you a deal, when you pull 405, (which I expect will be your next DL session), I will begin my quest for the same pull. You pull conventional, correct? Misery loves company.

As for the avatar, punk rock/Oi! was a huge influence in my younger years. However, currently my avatar is more a reflection of my state of mind.

I deadlift tomorrow bro, conventional, Im def gonna rampup from 365 to 405, Ill let you know what happens, unfortunately everything is mental, I have a habit of psyching myself out in a lot of aspects.

I actually grew up with black flag because of my sister who took me under her wing, its a truly great yet misunderstood album. Henry Rollins is one of the few “stars” I looked up to.

I appreciate the words of encouragement!

Almost didnt go today, no belt no sneakers, no gym bag. All I had was some old shorts and a tee shirt that has been in my trunk since god knows when. But I go, with my brown shoes, black socks, old ratty shorts, stained t-shirt (i have no idea) and my wifes tote bag which has roses on it…HARDCORE!

Yonkey I have to thank you I DID IT! I took your advice and I pulled 405, thanks man. Your turn, lol.

Great work!! I see you wasted no time fucking around and went straight for 425, lol.

Alright, beginning this Friday I will begin my journey for 405. I’ll keep you updated, my vag hurts already.

ps - the body check was, in my opinion, a nicely delivered story and totally justified.

^ That my friend is impressive.

& having 3 pups myself, I’m interested in hearing about Milan? You going to meet him?

Yes sir!

Hes gonna be at the NY Pet Expo this Saturday, I cant wait I love his show, though one of my dogs goes apeshit whenever he is on for some reason. The cool thing is you can bring your dogs, I have three myself, Im only gonna bring two though as one of them is really bonkers, a “red zone case” if you will…lol

Im gonna try and get a pic, and ill post it.

Thanks man!

As a dog lover myself, I would also be interested in hearing about this Caesar Milan deal.

Yeah Ill definitely let you know how it was, hopefully I can snap a pic,

Dude you know you got this, do you wear a belt, I dont know how much belts truly work, but mentally it helps me alot. I also think doing Stiff Legged DLs helped me with the PR.

Skipped a day this week to go check out the NYC pet expo and see ceasr millan who turned out to be a really good guy. More on that later. My anterior delts are giving me a lot of discomfort, and because of this any heavy benching (for me) is going to have to stop. My traps are also giving me a lot of discomfort, espescially when I wake up in the morning. I may do DB shrugs for the time being, as my BB shrugs have suffered also. I have said before I will stop benching all together, maybe I will have to follow through this time.
