Cracked.com is an awesome time waster, unfortunately they block it at my job

I saw this thread bumped a few times so I figured there would be a nice PR to check out. And then I see old school Trons and talks of male periods, which is just as awesome haha

Nice pull brother. You’ll smoke 455 soon.

LOL Larry! Funny that you mention Tron, Im wearing my tron jump suit today!

Damn DJ how’d you feel at 220? did you lose alot of muscle, did your numbers drop?
Honestly I felt great at 220, and no my numbers did not go down. During the month of October last year I was still doing 5-3-1 only taking in 1600 Kcal a day. Now they didnt go up either, and I know to lift heavy you got to eat heavy.
Thats great man, I would love to drop 20lbs and not lose any strength.
I have found that I can make slight strength gains and drop fat on PSMF style diets. But its got to be short duration. No more than four weeks.

What’s PSMF?

Yeah Joe what is that, if I can drop some pounds w/o losing much strength Im all for it.

4/12/11

INCLINE BP - 135/20 225/5 275/3 315/0 315/1 225/12 225/10
INCLINE BP - W LIGHT BANDS 135/17 135/12

INCLINE DB - 80/16 105/12 115/8

DB ROW 80/20 125/5/5

WG PULLUPS 9/5 (14)
CHINS 10/10 (20)

Notes - Im still not feeling well and it showed in my session, considering I have hit 325 for 2 and today failed on 315 was very disappointing. Also spent too much time BS ing with people and ran out of time. I generally consider myself pretty quiet but once I start I cant stop kinda like pringles. The 315 I had a spotter but got it up (barely) im gonna blame this one on being sick and dizzy (for some reason) and have pre workout relations lol.

Awesome visual.

Protein Sparing Modified Fast

Basically you get almst all of your calories from lean protein and fiberous veggies. You cut your cals pretty low, for me it would be in the 1600-1700 range. I use protein powder for a lot of the cals because its easy to keep count.

The V-diet on here is a form of a PSMF though I’d suggest at least one meal of solid food a day for mental health reasons.

^ Yep that is what I am doing now, 3 protein shakes a day and one meal of meat and veggies (mostly meat). Workout days I also have a Surge post workout drink. Only day I get any real amount of carbs.

Man…that sounds extremely difficult, so protein shakes and veggies and maybe a lean dinner, ouch. I give you guys credit.

Holy crap. I go away for a week and there FOUR F##KING PAGES to catch up on.

 • When I’m trying to cut hard I go on a veggie-and-meat-only diet, at bodyweightx10 calories per day. Literally NO CARBS. It sucks really hard, but works like a hot damn. Although I’m betting you could do great just partitioning your carbs for a few months.

 • It is physiologically impossible to lose muscle as long as you are still lifting hard and getting enough nutrients (note I didn’t say calories). When you go into full-on carb withdrawl you’ll feel like warm shit, be grumpy and moody, and really low energy. That’s generally when most people quit the diet, convinced that the “low energy” thing means muscles are wasting away. It’s not. It’s the temporary brain fog that comes with early carb-withdrawl.

 • You are huge.

 • People watching is my third favorite activity after lifting and sleep. I wouldn’t give up the commerical gym for anything.

 • My Tron suit is in the shop getting the lights changed, so today I wore my Green Lantern underwear.

Yea normally for me it takes about 3 or 4 days of no carbs then I start burning fat and get that kick back in. ONLY if you miss meals you are fucked, happened to me yesterday, was stuck at work until almost 8 pm. Left me way to drained to workout this morning. Its only 5 more weeks, I stayed married for 2 years longer than I should 5 weeks aint shit.

I’m watching Tron now <3
You know, the new one.

I make my shakes with milk so I already failed with the PSMF thing.

Eww I can SOO stop with pringles. I don’t even start. I hate Pringles. I hate Pringles and Skittles.

I love that commercial where the woman says “You can’t eat just one chip. That’s why it’s called chips” Haha!

When you have time, and I know your super busy maybe you could help me out with this stuff, Im assuming the carb withdrawal depression goes away eventually? I guess the nutrients in are done with supplementation?

I am rocking my Optimus Prime Singlet tomorrow.

I approach dieting like I do lifting, mental approach, its just as important as locking out. I put down in my log or on here about me dieting, some what keeps me accountable. I had a shitty hard fucking 2 days of work. I left today and was day dreaming about making a drink when I got home. Nobody would know. But I said fuck it and had a salad with about a pound of fajita’s on it. Put in a dip of snuff and got on here to read logs etc. Keeps me motivated. I have weighed 305 pounds when I wasnt lifting and so I kind of have a complex of going back to that.
