MattyXL's Tears in a Bucket Log

Nice PR Matty and I hear ya on the pets. 18-19 is a ripe old age

Thanks man, yeah she was a trooper, she was pretty spry up until this past saturday.

Nice lifting, and sorry about the dog, lost mine the day after this past christmas, was only 7 yrs old though, not 18-19, that dog had a good life to live for that length of time.

Thanks Ogre, yeah she had a nice long life…its still tough, she was my sisters shadow.

Congrats on the incline PR. Woot woot
I always have to remind myself to breathe; then I say “wow this feels easier” heh heh

I’m sorry about your baby ;(

Thanks nikki, yeah that was strange, if I wasn’t sitting I would of embarrassed myself

Notes: Hot as fuck in the gym but had a good session nonetheless. Hit a pr in both reps and weight with the incline bench. I always use a spotter when benching heavy (heavy for me) theres only a few guys I trust to spot me luckily all three were present today. Very pleased, hopefully I can tape it for yall next week.

  • I dont know what happened on the HS decline, but on the 4plt attempt I think I almost passed out, the combination of the heat and me holding my breath on the push probably did it. dropped to 3 after.

On a different note…one of the family dogs had to be put down today, we found her 15 years ago on Liberty Avenue in Queens, NY. The vet said she was anywhere between 2 and 4 at the time when we found her, she was 18 - 19 years old. My sister assumed ownership but she was always around the family and my dogs…shes off to rainbow ridge she will be missed terribly. I hope when I go all my loved pets are waiting for me.[/quote]

Sorry to hear about your loss. People who don’t have animals don’t understand.

You’re comment regarding the rainbow bridge got my attention. Last year when my little buddy Fenris died I had him cremated and when we got him back from the vet there was a card with the urn that said “See you on the other side of the rainbow bridge.”

Now I don’t know if they noticed his name was fenris or what but it got my attention.

Thanks Joe, rainbow ridge is a poem that I received when one of my dogs died…it made me feel better:

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to
someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are
meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can
run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and
sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to
health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made
whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our
dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and
content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone
very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all
run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly
stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are
intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run
from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs
carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special
friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion,
never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your
face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look
once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone
from your life but never absent from your heart
Then, you cross Rainbow Bridge together.

THAT is a cool poem!

My Mom has often said…

Heaven will not Heaven be
If my pets aren’t there to greet me

Joe, we cremated a Calico that I had. Her name was Jewel. She was a stray that my brother took in while in the navy. When he went to the Med., she moved in with my dad. A year later, she moved in with me and I had her for about 7 years. Everyday, when I got home, she would be standing on the edge of the couch, waiting for me. She slept next to my pillow, every night.
Her box is engraved with, “Waiting in Heaven”.

Matty, sorry for your loss my friend. Rest assured there is a bulldog who was recently sent to Rainbow Bridge that will be looking out for her until we arrive. A.

Sincerely,

Sympathy on the dog thing. One of our dogs died last year (she was 15-17 at the vets guess, she was a rescue dog so we don’t know exactly). Had to make the decision to have her put down, the toughest decision I’ve ever had to make in my entire life. Our other dog is getting on now and I’m dreading her going.

Like Joe said, people who don’t have animals can’t understand.

On a happier note, great lifting btw.

Thanks Brett, I know exactly what you mean. Its a very tough decision indeed, one of my dogs about 7 years ago broke his back. The vet and neurologist gave no assurance of his ability to walk again. The surgery was close to 8 grand, and he would never be able to urinate on his own again…my wife and I work full time so we made the stinging decision to put down our little pal…its a horrible feeling.

Thanks for the compliments man, im trying my best.

sings I wear my sunglasses at night, so I can-so I caaannn :stuck_out_tongue:

Awesome bro curls dude.

Can’t wait for VIDS! I live for da vidz

I loved the one guy with 135 on the incline doing partials.

Matty are you using bare bar? I have yet to start doing these and with my recent hip and shoulder issues would like to start. How do you hold your hands/arms?

LOL, yeah, I love my gymâ?¦those two guys (who are pretty nice guys) who were playing grab ass with each other behind me proceeded to slap 315 on the rack and quarter squat. Now I donâ??t claim to have the most amazing depth on my squat, but what they do is really really humorous.

As far as the Zerchers go DJ yeah I am using it bare bar, though once I start moving up in weight I may use elbow sleeves. I really may do these after my DL 5/3/1 starting next week, they seem to really hit my quads more than my usual squats where I take a much wider stance. I also need to be more upright (I think) so Im going to move up in weight once I can get my form a little better with the heavier weight.
