I think it’s still possible that all the “free” humans are the ones who rejected the original matrix program, so another was created to make them believe they are exercising their free will and fighting the machines. Actually, they are still “brains in vats” just being fed a different program now.
“Sati” has her own meaning and place in Hindu mythology.
Interestingly, “Sati” is an anagram of “Sita,” a woman equally popular in Hindu mythology. (Just like “Neo” is an anagram of “One”–and also “Eon.”)
Sita was wife of King Ramachandra, an avatar of Lord Vishnu–one of the the three Gods of the Hindu Trinity.
Ramachandra spent 14 years in exile, killed a super villain called Ravana, and returned to his kingdom. His return was marked by the festival of lights or “Deepawali”----even today, the most important festival of India.
Sati-sfied?
Father of the Matrix => Brahma (The initial Creator)
Oracle => Lord Shiva and Goddess Shakti (Shiv and Shakti are often regaded as male and female counterparts of the same divinity. The Oracle tries to “unbalance” the equation, something akin to destruction of universe for good, which is Shiva’s job. Shakti or the mother Goddess stands for love, and nurturing and Oracle seems to love kids, and not to mention candies)
Most importantly,
NEO => Lord Vishnu, the divine preserver, the saviour, and the one who periodically incarnates himself to destroy evil forces (e.g.: Smith).
A certain Hindu mythological depiction portrays that while Vishnu is the divine saviour and re-incarnates himself to cleanse the world, he in a certain sense collaborates with Brahma for creation of a new cosmos every time it is destroyed (there is a depiction of Brhama positioned on a lotus that arises from Vishnu’s navel. Every time Brahma utters a word, a cosmos gets created, which eventually grows, matures, and collapses); Neo does something similar - he collaborates with the Architect, to re-set the Matrix, and at the same time saves Zion. The Bhagvad-Gita states that those devotees who follow the path of “dharma”, truth and sincere devotion, realize that the world is “maaya” (illusion) and come to Vishnu, attain liberation from recurrent life-and-death cycles. Interestingly, this is similar to the saving of Zionites by Neo, and freeing up of countless others by Neo and Co.

i have had discussion of MIM matrix in a matirx but those people are free in a sense.
the machines army will always destroy Zion. that is the control that the architect has designed for balancing the anamoly. if you can’t solve for an equation you either let it exist or you nullify it.
wouldn’t a nullified set be the end?
yes. unless it was reset. and why must it be reset? because machines need a steady supply of power.
once the equation is nullified the equation begins again - the matrix, agents, zion and the anamoly are recreted.
the 5 preceding anamolies could not feel love as specifically as neo. they cared for the survival of the race - even though it meant that the race was to be enslaved.
wouldn’t all this mean that the machines know the locationi of zion at all times?
YES. they do know. since zion cannot exist without the anamoly, and the anamoly cannot exist withough the matrix, and the matrix is needed by the machines to control humans, zion IS a controlled populace.
in fact, if zion is needed to support the matrix, that would make the machines partly responsible for the survival of its inhabitants (i.e. the life support machines in the engineering section of zion)
if its controlled, then why don’t the machines just shutdown their life support systems - why all this elaborate digging and overkill army? they would…if zion didn’t change the access codes to their mainframe.
Quote:
Agent Smith: Access codes to the Zion mainframe.
Cypher: No. I told you I don’t have them. I can get you the man that does.
wouldn’t this also mean that Neo sold out his race for his woman? yes, but only in the context of the choice given by the architect. his path will still lead him to the source - but not before acomplishing something that his predecesors could not - creating a peace between man and machine.
