Massive Eating Calories Burned Calculator?

I used the calculator on Massive Eating and it says I burn 4000 calories a day! How is this even possible I only weigh 196lbs. In the past I’ve eaten 4000 calories a day and have gained weight. Is this an accurate calculator? I’m very skilled with math so I know my numbers are correct but this just seems far too much.

Obviously the calculator isn’t correct if you used it properly. Why the hell you care what it says if it clearly ain’t true?

You’re actually lucky to need less than 4000 calories a day to maintain at 196 lbs. At 200ish lbs I go through around 4500 per day just to stay at this weight, and around 5500 to gain at a decent rate.

It varies from person to person, and also based on lifting frequency, intensity, session length, sleep, muscle mass, overall activity levels, etc etc. No way a calculator can accurately take all that into account.

I believe the calculator adds in the surplus of calories you’ll be eating to gain weight.

Haha well i think this calculator is just meant to be an approximate OP, obviously everyone is different. If your body is responding well to a certain amount, then keep at it.

Exactly.

Such calculations just put you in the ballpark of where a normal person with your stats needs to be. You still have to fine tune from there.
