It seemed like you were dive bombing those squats, I tend to that as well it seems as if I get more bounce out of the hole, but sometimes I go too deep and dump the bar. Your depth seemed ideal, might want to show the other guy squatting in your vid about depth.

You get a nice arch on your bench, lost your sweet spot for a sec but you got it back in line…I know you hate benching…feeling any love for it now?

Matty, thanks bro! Yeah, I’m a bit obsessed with my form right now (aren’t we all). The dive-bombing of squats is a problem sometimes, you’re right. At first I was going too slow, then too fast, gotta find that sweet spot for sure.

And the bench!! THE BENCH!! She’s a fucking bitch I tell ya, but I’ll get her. She just needs a little TLC. I will say, now that I’m “correctly” learning to bench I do like it a bit more. 105x5 is rep PR for me, never mind doing it a couple of times. I just need to remember to keep my elbows under my writsts! I was using “break a loaf of bread” as one of my cues and taking a bit of artistic license with it. My bread breaking skills are too fandangled! I’m like the Louis XIV of benching. I just need to keep it simple.

Charlie!! Wow, girl, thanks!! Its funny, but I do try to be quite methodical with my lifts. Especially since muscles need to tighten and fire and what have you. And YES! It is a lot like learning dance for me. But not because I’m particularly graceful, but because like dance, its helpful for me to learn through mimicry. So I watch people’s form that i admire and see how they do things, then I just mimic it. But yeah, i don’t know why I lift the way I do, I just roll with it. LOL! Literally. Best advice I heard, “don’t fight the lift.”

And yes, I actually studied flamenco for 7 years! Here is the ONLY pic I could find. LOL! Must’ve been 2004?
