Masch Needs a New Log

Hey loverlies! I’m glad you liked the vid

I’m so sorry I haven’t been around much lately. I’ve been super focused on my recovery, which quite frankly, is incredibly time consuming. Physical therapy takes 1.5 hours from icing up, to icing down (which is insane if you ask me), plus I have to go 3x a week. On top of the that, I also have a bunch of exercises that I’ve been told to do at home everyday along with my leg bendy device.

The good news, though, is that everything is paying off! The leg bendy device has now been maxed out! I have reached 110 degrees of flexion - i still have to use it though, but I’m sure by next week I’ll be off that bitch. Thank god, its cluttering up my living room!! I fucking hate clutter.

Anywho, Friday I had my first PT session and it went really well. I whimpered. A LOT. But according to my PT, she could’ve made me cry if she wanted, so she was doing me a favor eye roll

Essentially PT involves ice, massage, electro stim, a bunch of exercises geared towards waking up the quad, gaining ROM in the knee, extension, flexion, etc. They even made me get on the “short range” bike for 10 minutes. And the kicker (pun intended!), is that PT lady taught me how to walk without the brace! I was unsteady at first and looked like a total robot, but now, I feel much more confident standing and walking around that I can even do it without my pimp cane! I don’t do it that often, mind you - erring on the side of caution - but now when I have my brace off at home, I don’t feel the need to put it on just go to the bathroom or fix a bevvie, plus I can also do things like, you know, SHOWER! And that makes life much more bearable…(for me and those around me).

At any rate, PT lady says she’s going to put me on a real bike next sesh, as well as start weighting some of the exercises, most of which are pretty easy for me - especially since they’re total Jane Fonda moves. I mean, hello?! The hardest exercise, of course, is raising my leg while on my back (as shown in the vid). Good news is I can totes raise it now! Bad news is it fucking kills me! Especially on my hip flexors. wtf?

Week 2 - post surgery:

As of now, these are my mini-goals (this is what I’ve been reduced too btw):

  1. Walk WITHOUT my brace by week 4 - I’ll settle for in-brace but completely ambulatory. In fact, I’ll even settle for either of those two, and sleeping with it locked at night.

  2. Be able to take a pilates mat-based class (no machines) by week 4.

and finally,

  1. I made the executive decision that I need a vacation, so I’m going to visit my friend and his wife in Puerto Rico for my birthday. This coincides with Week 5 Post-op, so I’m shooting for NO BRACE for travel.

I talked these over with my PT lady and she’s behind me. Now I just have to clear them with my surgeon. He’s such a hard-ass though! But I think if I can show him some significant quad firing, he just might be persuaded…fingers crossed y’all!

Lastly, the food situ - as some of you may have seen, I dropped a few pounds post surgery. Unfortunately, that also made my face incredibly gaunt, which actually doesn’t look good on me. Anyways, this was thanks in part to feeling like death on a door mat. But I’m happy to report that my appetite has come back and I’m looking a bit more like Mascherano. The only thing is, and I didn’t mention this before, I’ve actually switched to eating vegetarian/pescatarian (had some sashimi over the weekend - yum!). I know it sounds crazy, but before I went into surgery I decided that I didn’t want over-work my system with digestion when I really needed the energy to recuperate. Plus, I wasn’t bout to keep with the warrior diet, what with all the pills I was going to be stuffing down my throat. So I went back to one of the first diets I had ever went on when I was wee 18 year old - The Blood Diet!

I’m type A, so that makes me mostly vegetarian with some fish and dairy - basically the Mediterranean diet. lol! So far, I feel great! Which is no surprise because I’m consuming tons of big juicy carbs from all sorts of yummy fruits and veg and yogurt (if theres a time to be a vegetarian its the summer). I haven’t craved for a single day a piece of animal meat, which is insane considering that I alone could support the nation’s pork industry…the only thing is, I don’t supplement with vits and things. UGH! I hate pills. But I’ll cross the anemia bridge when I get there. So far, so good though and don’t “appear” to have gained or lost a pound. Just slowly atrophying. LOL! I just pray that I don’t start getting those weird skinny-fat sausage limbs…shudder In fact, I think you should all pray that I don’t get skinny-fat sausage limbs! Thanks in advance.

Anyways, again, I’m so SO sorry that I’m not around more - you guys are the best! And I WILL visit all of y’alls in the next few days when I get some time and don’t feel so tired and introspective. So please, don’t feel like I’m being a neglectful cunt! I’m just being a selfish, introverted cunt

Hope everyone is staying cool - have a great one out there! I’ll catch up with y’all soon!

ps. Today’s my first day back at work btw - look at me go!

pps. I went to the pool this weekend on Sat and Sun! Nothing will stop me from getting my tan on! HAH! Next week I’ll try the beach…

Yikes! That’s a lot of text. Sorry :frowning:

Skim it, or don’t. Whatevs!

Have a wonderful week, my friends!

Labia,
Mascherano

Hello there Maschy
first of all nice to see things getting there, but I highly recommend AUS for a vacation ;)not that your leg would like to be in a plane that long.

loved the vid and a very sexy voice too!

cheers, Spook

Im a vegetarian too! but I also eat steak, chicken and pork.

I read the whole thing and, I have to say, I found it highly entertaining and informative. Go You!

But I have a question. I’m type O negative. What food should I be eating? And, no I’m not being an ass. Serial question.

I’m type A too, but there is no taking away of my meat. No, nuh-uh, nope.

Yay for you walking and moving beyond that bendy-thing! A lesser person would just sit around and whimper for a goodly long while, but not you. You’ll get after it and will fire that quad like you are trying to win the Olympic Gold Medal. YEAH!

A vacation sounds like just the ticket. This will give you extra motivation and something to really look forward to.

I just had a horrible vision of a brace tan-line. Tell me you’ve guarded against that travesty.

sausage limbs?
anemia bridge?

LOL!!! you funny…we labia you TOO!!

Glad you are getting better and in good spirits!!

Yay for your progress!

A vacation sounds like a great executive decision.

And yes I read your entire post. It was just big enough for all your updates. Barely.

Hey Maschy sounds like the leg is coming along! Remember to be patient though got to let things heal.

sounds like you are on the mend and yeah for vacation!

Glad you’re doing well post surgery. Sometimes baby goals are ideal.

I’ve never had an anemia issue as a vegetarian. Just be sure to get enough dark greens and you should be fine.

Goodie goodie gum drops for walking without gear and bendy legs.

Uh, I don’t think you have to worry about anemia if you are getting dairy and fish, unless its a usual problem for you.

Hi Maschy,

Good to see your making progress. A vacation in Oz-land sounds like a great idea!
For the first week you can stay with me. You can have the spare room. I have some adjustable dumbells and whey protein you can use for your recovery.
For the second week you can stay over at Spooks house.

Hi Masch, Way to get at the rehab. I don’t think you are capable of sausagy skinny fat arms, but I will pray very hard.

Keep up the good work woman.

Cock?! Lol! Gentleman, you really ARE too kind, but I’m not even eating chocolate these days! :frowning:

Anyways, all is well. Been busy. Work is insane and just trying to make the most out of my summer. The brace is ridiculous and clashes with everything - such a bummer.

Rehab is progressing - did some BW partial squats and got on the big girl bike. I also bought resistance bands, they’re so much fun! You can do so much with them even just sitting on your couch. Which is good for my patita rota. But I feel like it’ll be good with my diet. According to the blood diet, Tyoe As really should keep to “light exercise.”

Patch, thanks! Good to know. I am eating a lot of greens, and I’ll be honest I’m really enjoying it. Tonight I had stewed eggplant and zucchini with greek yogurt on top, and creamed spinach. So yummy! I also munched on rice crackers which are delicious. I love that I’m eating so much fruit too. I feel the vitality!

Anyways, that’s it! I’m going to peruse TN. Have a great night everyone!

chocolate or cockolate? lol

you’re doing the blood type diet? Why did you decide to do that maschy? Im not a fan of that diet… but i’m interested in hearing your thoughts

lots of greens is always good. A diet made up of lots of fruits and Veggies never hurt anyone

Glad to hear that things are going good. Maybe you can find different color leg braces that will go with different outfits? hahaha

My husband made a soup out of our only cock once. I thought it might be tough and stringy, since he was a bully in the coop, but it was delish.

Yes, PT can take over your life. But it’s only for a limited time. Then it will be back to the regularly scheduled program.

Glad to hear the recovery is going so well! And it sounds like you are doing things ahead of schedule. As for being scarce around here, I haven’t been around much lately either and I miss it!

So much fun to hear your voice on the rehab video. Just as cute as can be.

And I don’t know about you, but when it’s HOT out I just don’t feel like eating as heavy. The Mediterranean diet will be good for the summer with all the fruits and veggies. I LOVE FISH!

Keep workin’ that quad Maschy. You’re doing great!
