That’s one reason why superhero franchises generally fizzle out so quickly. They don’t map out a long term story arc and keep the biggest, baddest villains for later movies. They usually throw in the most well known enemies early on and get left with second-tier adversaries for the sequels. Where do you go from there?
Whedon is smart with any luck this is the intro to a Skrull War trilogy. I just hope the producers don’t get silly and try to force new villains.

This x1000 Iron Man 2 was a huge let down because they tried to add too much into the movie Rhodey could have waited for the third or even fourth movie to get the War Machine armor, but all the fake nerds had to see War Machine so they could geek out, and as a result what could have been an interesting fued of two genius families was put to the back burner and was a secondary part of the story.

Well I like new villians the reason why the Superman films started to stink after 2 was too much Luthor, or Luthor clones like in Superman 3. If DOnner had his way Superman would have ended with the missle getting redirected so it goes off into space and eventually freeing the Phantom Zone criminals, instead the Salkind family forced that lame ass travel back in time bullshit.

hahahahaha, hahahaha, Yes I do understand that and agree. But I said “FORCE” NEW Villians. Remember how the first batman of the 90’s went with just trying to fill the screen with “STARS” who wanted to be the NEW bad guy or Spidermans last movie with what 8-9 new bad guys all with the Producers going "Hey we can get this star to play this bad guy I seen in one of the comic books I looked up for research.
What we don’t want is Star Villians (because everyone will want to be apart of a hit movie) just for the names with no story.
I still say a 3 movie triolgy on one of the wars would be cool and if you remember they can bring in new people just keep the story tight.

I kind of like where the Avengers cartoon series and the Ultimate Avengers animated movie went with the addition of Black Panther and vibranium in the story arc. A lot of places to go there.

I feel like that’s what they’re currently doing with Batman.
Saw it last night and really enjoyed it. But I just don’t see how 3D added anything. It looked forced most of the time, and I was periodically peaking under the glasses and seeing what looked like a normal movie with occasional 3D.

Would not even bother with 3D if it’s not IMAX. IMAX is worth the extra for this movie can’t say the same for other flicks In IMAX

The 3D looked fucking awful.
The Avengers’ loss was eased by yet another record: It broke the $500 million barrier domestically on Saturday, its 23rd day in theaters, and become the fastest film to ever hit that mark.
Its studio estimated the superhero movie will gross $37 million from Friday-Sunday, putting its domestic total at $513.7 million.
Only Avatar, Titanic and The Dark Knight have ever grossed more.

The multi villains were a bigger problem than Rhodie.

He’s in every f’ing movie. We got Zod for a minute, but there are so many better villains, brainiac, darkseid, parasite, metallo, etc…

Putting Rhodey in the War Machine armor that quickly was dumb and they blew they’re nut doing it, this was just to shut up the fair weather fans who have never read an Iron Man comic or even know how long Rhodey wore the original red and gold armor after Stark had to give it up due to alcholism. Instead of actually trying to write a decent story they said here wear this and all the clowns in the theatre clapped like retards, Rhodes as War Machine is up there with bat nipples and Topher as Venom

He wasn’t in 3 instead we got Richard Pryor and a Luthor/Trump hybrid.
