Why? Just curious.

Not sure, Marq. Some people just rub me the wrong way. Perhaps it was a role I had seen him in years ago that didn’t go over well with me.
Got ya, I am the same way. Emotional creature
LOL!

After I posted that, I went back right away to edit my post to add, “Irrational, I know. But it is what it is”. But it never showed up!

In retrospect, it sounds like I’m whining over nothing.

Sometimes I swear there’s a little bitch inside me dying to get out.

LOL!

I’m the same way. Passionate about many things, but also I can hate things ( harmlessly, I mean…like songs or actors or paper clips etc.)
I mean I’ll tell someone who’s going to the US "Bring me back some cinnamon chewing gum because I FUCKING LOVE CINNAMON CHEWING GUM SO MUCH! and then that Santana song “SMooth” comes on and I cringe and tell everyone that I want that song to get fucked in the ass with a stick covered in Hitler’s shit and barbed wire.
You mean just like the ocean, under the moon?

.

YES.

About time someone put these “so called superheroes” in their place.
The Avengers attack on adopted children is mean and unfunny
PANAMA CITY, Fla., May 17, 2011 ? The lame joke at the expense of adopted kids in the movie The Avengers isn?t just mean, it?s something perhaps worse: unfunny.

The Avengers has scored big at the box office. However, it has fallen flat with an increasingly number of child advocates across America. The reason? This exchange in the film:

The Black Widow character says, “[Loki] killed 80 people in two days.” Then Thor, Loki’s brother, replies, “He’s adopted.”

Ha, ha. That?s the laugh line. Whether you have a child who is adopted or not, the fact is the line just isn?t that funny.
the most lucrative super hero movie of all time.

I also read Downy Jr may get paid 50 MIL or more for his role.

Well people laughed in the theatre I was watching the movie in.

I don’t understand how that line is even making fun of adopted children.

Yeah, I mean, he’s just saying he’s not blood related. No way making fun of or demeaning adopted kids.

You have to love the word “attack”…as if the Avengers said every adopted kid is the seed of Satan.

So, if Thor had said, “He’s not a blood relative”, they would have responded the same?

Probably not. But these “child advocates” are over-reacting. People over-react to everything nowadays. You can barely say “hi” anymore. People need to get over themselves.

Soon, you will need to take out super hero from your statement. It will simply be the most lucrative movie of all time.

They’re also ignoring the content of the scene in which that statement was made. Insults were starting to be hurled and they were generally just arguing and expressing dissent among the group. I mean, you could argue that it makes the comment more stupid because he only said it to get the upper hand in an argument and had backtracked since he mentioned he was his brother in the previous breath.

This would make me think that it has even less meaning to it, considering it was a spur of the moment comment just to have a comeback to someone else’s comment.

Plus, it seemed to me like they were being influenced by the staff that was in the room with them. So if that’s true, the movie makers would probably make the argument that Thor wasn’t really in his right mind when he made that statement.

You are confusing the scenes. Thor made that comment before they argued in Banner’s and Stark’s lab.

I agree, hilarious spin on the line. I am offended by their lack of comprehension as they are offended by the scene.

If misinterpretation is en vogue, shouldn’t the ACLU be hunting down the Cap’t for tipping Nick Fury upon entering the command center? I thought that was a hilarious cultural reference.

Did he really? I coulda sworn he said it while they were all arguing. Well, just another reason for me to go see it again

Oh, and he wasn’t tipping him, he was giving him the money he owed for winning their bet earlier in the movie. About Cap seeing some things that will amaze him.

LOL

guess I watched too much Chapelle’s show when I was younger…

Its nice that that was what bothered those groups. Not the almost total destruction of NYC. See its groups like this that make me want to fill up a tube sock full of tennis balls and go on a National “Up side your head” smack fest.

Like this?

Isn’t there a scene in some movie where a kid, after his parents do some stupid shit, says to someone else…

“I’m Adopted”

???

And it barely matters that Loki is adopted, even if he and Thor were siamese it doesn’t take away from the fact that Loki is a straight up cocksucker.

However, I liked Loki in War Horse. Very good part for him.
