and how exactly was the alien army crappy? they destroyed manhattan and were bested only by superheroes and a demi-god… i think you just want to dislike something about the movie, lol. which is your prerogative i suppose.

It just seemed that if Widow and Hawkeye could fight them then the cops could have done something. It also just seemed lame that the invasion was just in Manhattan.

??
Widow and Hawkeye are Super Heroes thats the point they can do stuff normal people can’t. Are you into the Marvel stuff at all?

Exactly. I find it hard to believe he actually enjoyed the movie…lol.

Probably more than you, I get that they’re superheros but it’s not like the aliens had super armor, hawkeye didn’t even use many trick arrows.

Well thats my point. This stuff happens in the Marvel Universe all the time. Why would you expect it to be diferent in the movies? And for the most part. Stan Lee keeps his stuff kinda close to NY so why not Manhattan.
And did you want the police to save the day? Help me out here man. What would you have changed?
I thought the Alien idea was a great one for no other reason you could Kill them without all the “We can beat up on them but not kill them because they are humanoids” that happens in Hero Movies because they don’t want to taint the Image.
This was just an incredibly entertaining film. Ruffalo made me forget about Norton, and it didn’t feel like any of the Avengers got short changed for screen time. I wasn’t thrilled with Scarlett Johansson’s performance, though. Anyone who saw Thor knew Loki was going to be a whiny bitch, but I don’t think it took away from the movie. If anything the route it took the movie sets up future plots.
Definitely worth seeing in the theater, probably a couple times!
Minor qualm: I think they push Tony Stark’s snarkiness a little too hard at times. I realize that’s his character but it seems forced for laughs on occasion.

Comparing this to Transformers?? REALLY? wow…
Don’t get me wrong, i’m the first one to get a hard on over super hero movies and i fucking loved this movie. The compassion to transformers 3 was simply plot based only, Transformers 3 was a bag of shit compared to this.
I really liked Hawkeye and Widow, brought a human touch to the movie instead of it being about a group of near invincible guys.
Interesting fact aswell, ‘The other’ that dude in space was played by Alexis Denisoff who was in Buffy/Angel, interesting because of Whedon directed both and crated Buffy/Angel.

This tells me you don’t read comics.

Stop trolling, please. If you were as big a fan of comics as you say you are, you’d know the significance of the “crappy alien army” and why they were specifically chosen as enemies for the movie.
I know some people look for a life-changing message when they go to movies, and if you are looking for that in this movie, go watch something else.
This movie is about explosions, special effects, quick one-liners, and your typical testosterone filled bad-assery that most guys like us enjoy.
I won’t offer any spoilers unless someone asks me directly, in which case I can PM you the specifics, I really don’t want to ruin it for anyone.
But this movie is entertaining, it is constantly changing in how you think it will end. It’s one of those deals where you think you have figured out the plot, and then boom, you’re wrong.
I also like the dynamic between all the characters, it’s almost like there is so much ego, and they have to find ways for this “Dream Team” to work.
If you thought you liked the Hulk, you will REALLY like the Hulk after this.
WATCH THIS MOVIE, this is worth the maddening screams of the kiddies, the long lines, and perhaps the useless skinny jean wearing mother fuckers stepping on your feet as they scoot to get to their seats as the movie is starting.
Man how poetic was it when Banner was like “the trick is I’m always angry” and BAM! just morphs into the Hulk. Awesome fucken scene right there, shit i guess goose bumps just thinking about it.

I really don’t get why people are calling this an amazing movie or saying it’s better than any of the Nolan films. And i’m no Marvel hater, Captain America, Thor, and Iron Man, Spider man 1 and 2 were all better than this.
This movie was
cheesy
corny
had a terrible plot
and was more like transformers then I would have liked in fact I’d say transformers 1 had a better story
Thor just shows up
Banner somehow can control the hulk
They didn’t delve into Cap entering the modern world
that said I was entertained, but best comic book movie ever? NO
What’s strange is that you are seemingly puzzled that people DID like this movie.
If you really didn’t like it, fine…but it would be silly to scratch your about people that did.

If this comes close to the 1st Iron Man or even 1st Transformers I’ll be happy. Loved both those movies. X2 or Dark Knight are still be my favorite out of this genre.
Honestly, I didnt see Loki as much of a whiny bitch, as just playing the with hand he was dealt. He doesnt have the brute strength that Thor has, he has his illusions, tricks, and manipulation. Thats all he has to work with, so its what he uses.
