I’m betting that next fight for Martinez is Margarito.
Just sayin’.

So much for a rubber match between Paul and Serge.
This might actually make it easier for Paul to find a fight with Pac/May.
About the Pacquiao-Mayweather matchup…
It probably won’t happen.
Pac would probably win it. He’d put a huge amount of rounds in the bank just by being aggresive. If DLH can hold May to a split decision, Pac is good enough to take it. [/quote]
Ur assuming Pacs jab will be as effective as DLH’s…and the same reach. Like GoldeGloves said there is so much more to boxing than PacMan’s “speed” and “impressive footwork”, no doubt it’s all good but I think it’s amplified by the stationary punching bag’s that Arum put’s Pac in the ring with. I believe Pac would have trouble with fighters like Money May, Martinez, and i Also think Andre Berto has the goods to make things complicated for Pac.

One fighter I enjoyed watching was Pernell Whitaker who had one of the best defenses of all time. That’s why I like Mayweather.
But May fans, like Pac fans think a little too highly of them. But Mayweather is undeafeated so it’s easier for me to defend him. lol

I love Pernell. I like watching him more than Mayweather- I really loved his style- a little more fluid than Mayweather’s, which can be a bit more abrubt and forceful.
As far as the current crop of boxers go, these guys are at the top. No denying that. But as far as all time, they barely scrape the surface.
You put either fighter in with Robinson, Armstrong, Hearns, Hagler, Duran, Leonard, and they got big fucking problems.
But I rate Mayweather at the top of the last 10 years because really, he’s made every victory except for the first Castillo bout look easy- really fucking easy.
The thing is Mayweather fans are boxing fans- you know about FLoyd or Roger Mayweather, and you been watching the game for a while.
However, Pacquaio fans are not necessarily boxing fans- just as often, they’re rabid Filipinos who now have a national idol to latch onto, which is something they never had before. And that’s fine… as long as they don’t come at me like I don’t know boxing just because they watched three pacquaio fights and now think that he’s the be all end all to boxing, especially when the motherfuckers have never sat back and watched guys like the ones I mentioned above.
I like Pac, honestly. I just tend to hate his fans.

I’m not assuming anything of the sort. I’m assuming that the judges would favor the more aggressive Pacquiao. This is a very reasonable thing to assume.
I think Mayweather has a nightmare style for Pacquiao. A slick, fast, southpaw counterpuncher.
But I think that Pacquiao also has a nightmare style for Mayweather. A quick, unorthodox, southpaw that lets his hands go. It’s hard to pick. And I think the judges would be the deciding factor.
Of course there is more to boxing than the basics. But until fight night, and until each camp has come up with their game plan, it’s hard to pick a fight based on anything else.

Ya Lost me when you said Mayweather was a south paw…He’s not a southpaw. I can respect wut you are trying to explain, but just watching Pac’s last 3 fights I dont see the skill necessary to beat Mayweather. No doubt Pac has the Heart of a champion, lightening fast hands, and wut looks like good footwork(against fighters who r slow and have crappy footwork and bad balance)…but as far as the skill goes i dont see it. just look wut cotto did to his face when they fought. yes Pac beat the hell outta him but he came out looking like shit and with a busted ear drum. I know styles make fights but Mayweather would not have came out of that fight looking like that and he prob. would have beat cotto just as bad or convincingly.

Funny thing is, I’m Filipino and when I point out the negatives of Pac, such as 8 titles but only a legit 3 or 5, I’m a traitor. I do not discuss boxing with any Filipino Pac fan if they haven’t watched any great fighters of the past. Youtube has been around for awhile, and if a Filipino can become the lead singer for Journey because he was discovered on it, they can look up some old videos of great fighters.
I had the privilege to watch Sweet Pea, Duran, Sugar Ray Leonard, Hearns, Marvelous Marvin, Hector Camacho, Chavez, and RJJ (all time fave) in their prime. I mention any of these fighters, they’re like “What, who”. I’m no expert, but at least know some history.
Like I said, I want Pac to win, but May by split decision.
By the way, Martinez is the shit! KO of the decade!

See that sucks man. Makes your countrymen look bad! haha. Seriously, I agree… watch fuckin youtube and then talk boxing. I really can’t even compare it to anything, except maybe Yankees fans and how much they suck and are completely delusional to the point of ridiculousness.
And yea, Martinez was fucking brutal.
so… lets hear everyone’s predictions for who Martinez and Pac fight next.
I hear rumblings that Martinez wants a rematch with Margarito
and Pac wants Berto.
thoughts?

I WANT TO SEE FUCKING PACQUIAO MAYWEATHER!!
If these two fuckin jerks can’t make this fight, I will be pissed. Pacquaio needs to take these damn blood tests and agree to the fight, and let’s see it.
Margarito’s so busted up after Pac I think that Martinez would be a bad fight for him. But I think that at this point, Martinez is a bad fight for ANYONE.
true… i want to see pac vs mayweather too, and Martinez vs the winner of the super six at a catch weight, maybe 164, but i really wanted opinions on what will really happen vs what in out wet dreams we WISH would happen, lol
I agree May Vs. Pac…Many people seem to overlook that Mayweather agreed to 8oz. gloves (10oz gloves are standard for welterweight) and to pay $100,000 for every pound he comes in over 147, atleast Manny can do is a USADA drug test…but we shudn’t hold our breath for this fight
So the Pac vs. Berto looks very interesting!..as I stated b4, after watching Pac fight these punching bags, I believe Berto can be a problem for PacMan. He can Match athleticism, footwork , power, he is just lacking the big fights and is not as seasoned as Manny. This could be Berto’s breakout fight, everyone has to start somewhere
Berto gets hit a lot though. He’s a puncher, and he’s got good hand speed, but I’m not sure that he has the experience to stand in there with a fighter like Pac.
What i really think is going to happen is that he’s going to fight Mosley, and it will be an awful pathetic fight that gives me another reason to dislike Pacquaio and Roach.
Half of me really wants to see Pacquaio fight Martinez just so Martinez can finally knock him the fuck out, but like I said, there’s no way that fight happens because of the weight difference.
IF they try to set it up at a catchweight of 150 and drain him out for the multimillion dollar fight that it would be, I would be furious. But between the scumbag combo of Roach and Arum, nothing would surprise me.
Next fight- Pacuqaio to fight Klitscho at a 161 catchweight.

I would like to see Bute get the 1st shot at the Super Six winner, but I like the idea of Martinez getting a crack at it too.

Actually, it’s $10,000,000 for each pound over 147.
I think Berto is really overpaid and hasn’t done much of anything but he’d be hard for Pac because Berto is going to clench a lot and is a big strong welterweight. I think he could win the fight but it’d be more because of his physical assets rather than boxing skills. He’d probably have a ugly fight with Pac, kind of like a Pascal/Dawson type of fight with Berto coming in and getting off punches, moving out, or hitting then clenching.

Actually it’s Arum that wants Pac to fight Mosley. Roach said Mosley is too old and it’s not a fight the fans want to see. The only fight left for Pac is Mayweather. If not, Roach said Pac should retire soon. Roach wants to protect Pacs health, while its scumbag Arum that wants to see how much he can still make out of Pac.
Martinez said that he will not go below 155 for anyone. Also, Pac is too small for him to fight. Which I agree 100%.
Bob Arum is a huge scumbag.
I hope Martinez sticks to his guns, but for a 35-year old fighter who’s just become famous, the money that could come with that matchup may be too much to pass up.
Look at DLH. Damned if that guy didn’t know he shouldn’t step into the ring at 147, but he did anyway. Although he barely took a forward step after.

Holy hell thats alot of penalty Money!..I also see a Pac v. Berto going the same way, with Bertos speed and power being the deciding factor, even though I believe Pac is a better boxer I could still see Berto beating him

Pac has more speed than any 147 not named Mayweather, but I agree with goldengloves that Berto will try to win ugly by clinhing and using his size advantage.
Roach will have the proper game plan and I see Pac winning by decision.

He also said he wouldn’t go up to supermiddle. So it’s hard to see where the big money fights are…
Margarito’s a name, isn’t a huge threat and has got history with Martinez. That’s the way I see them going.
Anyone for…
Marquez - Katsidis?
Ward - Bika?
Froch - Abraham?
