Martial Archive

Lets compile some great matches, highlights and perhaps instructionals. There should be a vast amount of resources available on the internet to do so

Direct links please, not necessarily downloads, there is another thread for that. This simply makes it easier to use and learn from. Also lets keep them well labeled. Lets try to get more than just MMA fights. It’s not the only sport out there, plus we can learn a lot by watching different aspects of MMA broken down into more concentrated mediums.
Lets stick to stuff we can really learn from as well

Awesome, awesome stuff guys… and we’re probably the more crossfit-friendly part of the t-forums so no worries. Good info is good info, despite the source

Glad you guys are enjoying it. His teacher Joe Lewis is among the best striking coaches in the world, and if not the best, at least damn close when it comes to strategy.

Really? That’s awesome kmcnyc.

I haven’t seen any of his half nelson stuff. Do you know anywhere on the web where one can watch it (like youtube, dailymotion, etc…)? If so, please post it.

Ok you outed me…

SUNY Morrissville
for two years,then another semester,
I was a horrible student Coach Jim Hall
an excellent Greco coach former Oaklahoma State
NCAA champ Greco world contender he went to Tibilisi.

I got red shirted for acedmics had to “audition” at plenty of schools.

eventually I was admitted to Syracuse
circa 1991… did not start at first
eventually became a starter.

Gene has this “nephew” Mark who’e last name escapes me. He went to morrisville to
and this dude Paul Creighton who fought BJ penn at UFC 37.

Did two seasons,For Gene
then the OTC to be meat
and eventually bad academics, injuries
and burn out got to me.
Gene’s Voice is still stuck in my head.
I first met him at a wrestling camp
and he is an awesome coach.
He said I was the best guy who still sucked.
here is one clip of his series.

he is big on not flattening out the bottom guy and really cranking the turn.
the whole series is called pin to win

and it is working from the top while the opponent is on his knees.

Here is Gene at a BJJ school.

there are some videos on his website.
but I dont think they show much he sells a DVD.

I guess that is why I am so critical of wreslting.
ok hijack over

That is a link to what is posted on Gene’s site.

He still sells dvd’s etc so there is not too much out there.
If you watch his matches you can see some of the technique.

I get a litle emotional hearing his voice.
im soft.
