MarkKO's Training Log

@mortdk with the good advice. Yes, that’s the plan. I’m going to cap everything at a lower intensity until I get this sorted. I can’t get a big total if my head explodes.

You’re so right, but I think you knew the advice beforehand… @simo74 kind of said it.
Hope you’ll sort that shit out soon.

Me too. I’d like to string together a few weeks without issues.

Well, Greg’s system is all about accumulating fatigue…you’re finding new ways to do that.

Woke at 261.2 lbs, looking similar to yesterday. Maybe a tad more bloated but nothing extreme. Had the CPAP on for a bit over 8 hours, and the nose pillow was a ton more comfortable. Win.

@bigpappafrance thanks mate, hopefully this all sorts itself out soon

@Frank_C Greg’s system is about recovering from fatigue  so hopefully I manage that part too.

Also, made an appointment with the GP for Wednesday. You guys aren’t the only ones pushing me to see a doc, bunch of guys on the team did the same.

I do, but they are so magnificent they transcended their individual status and became one enormous ab. The power belly.

@simo74 oh man I am slow. Fixed it to the actual 261.2

Ok, so I’ve gotten very loose game plan going forward until I know exactly what the fuck is going on in my head. It’s all based on the issue arising with longer sets.

First up, minimise any pressure going into my head. That means I’m going to lay off the core activation stuff I start with just to be safe. Right now I I figure it’s more important to make sure my head is minimally stressed. I need to do something to warm my midsection up but I’ll figure that out.

Second, cap any main or supplemental set at five reps. Seems like that’s a safe limit. If at any point shit starts to feel funky, pull the pin

For assistance I’ll just feel it out.

Went for a pond walk, then 10 sprints and walk back on that slight incline again. Probably around 80 per cent. I paced it out, it’s dead on 30 paces, which I’m pretty sure is somewhere around 20 metres.

Head was ok, but there’s definitely tenderness on the right side and occiput any time by heart rate increases.

I’m considering doing tomorrow’s squats on the belt squat

For some easy-on-the-head core warmup/activation, would something like doing pallof presses with light bands be something that may work for you? I’ve used them in the past and they seem to be a low stress movement. Most standing anti-flexion/rotation movements will likely be better than their bent over variation for causing less pressure in your noggin.

Does your gym have a belt squat machine or are you just rigging something up? I feel like I may have seen a vid of you in a machine, but I could be mistaken. I’ve been interested in trying the machine, but never had access to one.

I wonder how many people have hobbies where not having a stroke is considered a win.

Hope you get better soon man.

Not bad idea, thanks @littlesleeper I might give them a go. I was thinking of bird dogs too.

We have a belt squat. Very useful for this kind of situation.
