MarkKO's Training Log

As I said you know your body pretty well, I’m nowhere near you, so it’s all long distance thinking.

And if you wants to train, and feel you could hit the weights fine, but don’t do due to illness, well then get that shit out of your body, and let us see some more Mark Badass lifting.

I still think you should do some higher intense cardio to get that heart beating. Moving around at work those a bit, but those sessions where your heart just pounds away and lets the blood flow fast through the veins are equally important.
And I don’t think twice a week high intense running, rowing, biking for 5 minutes will do your lifting any harm.

But first thing first, get well first.

The only variable that’s different now is that you hit two comps relatively close together.

I can empathize with the lasting infection. I had the same thing last winter. It sounds like your nausea is from the mucous draining from your sinuses into your gut. I get that too.

It’s just a bad stretch. I don’t think you need to do anything drastic; just let your body recover.

Woke looking similar to yesterday. Scale batteries are dead, so no weight.

Did the sleep study, the electrodes on my calf kept getting loose and when I woke up their cable was pulled out of the main box. Hopefully that doesn’t screw the whole study up.

I’ve had some tea and don’t feel like hurling yet, so that’s a good start.

So today I felt absolutely fine. Go figure.

Todays training

3x10 bracing hip thrusts

10x10 second bracing 90/90

Mixed band rows and Y-raises with these

Bench press
Worked up to 25x187 lbs with 10 second rests - 8, 5, 4, 3, 2, 2, 1

Press
3x4x132 lbs

Chain flys replacing DB flys
2x18 - I saw the chain flys on Josh Bryant’s IG and he mentioned they are very shoulder friendly. My right front delt while better is still touchy so I figured I’d try it. Even though the chains are only around maybe 25 lbs I got a great MMC and stretch. Ten out of 10 would do again.

DB row
3x12x88 lbs

JM press replacing skull crushers
8x88 lbs
2x8x110 lbs

All up an hour and 20 minutes. I think I’m also getting the hang of shoulder distraction.

Really glad I trained today.

Woke looking similar to yesterday, maybe a little more bloated. Haven’t gotten new scale batteries yet.

These sound interesting, good for a change

I get much more ROM so more stretch with them. Definitely an improvement on DBs for me.

Woke looking less bloated. Still no batteries. I need to fix that. Didn’t eat or drink a ton yesterday so need to remedy that today.

Woke looking much the same as the last couple of days. The cat managed to get the scale on last night so I hopped on and it came it at 262.1 lbs, so I’m probably sitting around the 258-260 mark on waking. I really need to remember batteries.

Seems like the scale only turns on at bedtime now. Weird, but anyway I’m 263 lbs at bedtime

Woke looking a bit more bloated than yesterday. I’m going to go ahead and blame the two bowls of pasta I had for dinner. Scale wouldn’t turn on. Again.

Maybe the scale is just scared and it takes all day to build up the courage to turn on. lol

Maybe the scale reached it’s 1RM and needs a deload.

Too fat for the scale

Fun fact, I’ve been thinking I’m 260ish at 5 8’.

Turns out I’m 260ish at just 5 7’.

So, yeah, too fat for the scale.
