MarkKO's Training Log

Did my rehab work after getting up. Took around 40 minutes, and was boring as shit but means I can move just about normally now.

This is probably going to be as close to woo woo as I get.

A while back I used to have a blog. It was a steaming pile of turds. That’s what happens when some wet behind the ears fuckwit thinks he’s got something to share with the world about training from his wealth of experience gained in a year. My mistake was not having abs and an IG account. That would have been a different story.

Anyway, one post I wrote was about getting hurt and how I almost wished it would happen just to know how I’d respond. Stupid doesn’t even begin to cover it.

Anyway, here I am. I can’t roll over at night without bracing myself against the behead and woe betide me if I try to roll over clockwise. Until I’ve done my rehab in the morning, I hobble around like a cripple.

So here I am having gotten my wish; and it isn’t even a particularly bad injury at all. I don’t even know what the fuck it is, except it sucks.

Turns out nothing changes. I’ve just to got to factor in an extra 45 minutes after I get up to be able to move properly and another 45 minutes in training to do all the rehab shit again before I lift. Probably going to use my belt for all my squats and DL until the meet is done. That’s it.

Fifty-six days till meet day.

Second round of rehab work in the mid afternoon. Took around 25 minutes, must have counted slowly in the morning.

Sorry to hear that your back has gotten worse again. Best of luck with recovery mate!

Yeah my back is on and off good or bad. I am sure that my hip ist the culprit though. It is getting better at the moment and the last few training days I had zero issues. But I didn’t sit beforehand…

Creamed rice and coco pops. Yet more evidence that carbs on carbs is a great thing.

Try some of the stretches. It’s insane how much better I feel after.

Hopefully it sorts itself soon. So 40 mins of stretching per day Mark? For how long?

That picture of rice and pops literally made me drool. I am bloody hungry now.
Sorry to hear you are still suffering Mark. Have you been to a good physio or osteo? Or are you self diagnosing?

Man, based on the timeline of your symptoms and those tingles it sounds like you should avoid compressing your spine and flexing your back forward until things calm down.

Can you use some fancy machines for legs for awhile to avoid loading up your back?

Never met a carb I didn’t like

Woke at 250.9 lbs, looking less bloated than yesterday again. Better this morning, not walking like a cripple.

@I_Luc it’s more like 25 minutes if I count right.

@simo74 Greg has a physio on the team. I described my symptoms, he gave me some tests to do and then based on how I responded prescribed the rehab work. So far it seems to be working.

@FlatsFarmer if it wasn’t for nationals in eight weeks I might. Except there’s nationals, so I’ll be training a usual. Just doing the rehab and hoping for the best.

That’s good Mark. Do you or the physio not think there would also be a benefit from any treatment ? Massage, needling, adjustment etc ?

Maybe if it doesn’t improve. It looks positive so far though.

Did my first lot of rehab work, took 25 to 30 minutes. Hated every second of it.

It’s so hard to do this every day. My training takes long enough - and that’s the fun part. It’s really easy to scrap the rehab/prehab stuff.

Luckily for me I get shooting pains to remind me to do my rehab.

Works every time.

Second round of rehab work mid afternoon. Took around 25 minutes. It’s a pain in the proverbial but also works so who the fuck cares?

I’ve managed to come down with a cold too. Sore throat from waking that’s finally started to ease up (granted it was pretty mild so no complaints), feeling drained all day and now nose is doing a creditable impression of @adarqui (running pretty damn well).

Call me @losthog lite
