Had a slight binge after dinner, mostly carbs. Was plain fucking starving.
Woke at 204.2 lbs, looking decent. Actually, looking kind of tighter than yesterday. Vindication for extra food yesterday.
In a stellar effort went over again today - except around 500 cal was beer, so how the hell do I count that? Total extra was 400 cal, so I guess without the beer that’s almost under?
Also painted kitchen ceiling.
Did you paint it properly though?
I feel like this has been a problem for me the entire month of December
I always track my booze. Thanks to the T-Nation article about alcohol and its effect on the body I try not to eat after I start drinking. The article said alcohol inhibits the body’s ability to use fat so it might store it. It also said that it appears that 0.5-1.0 grams of alcohol per kg of body weight doesn’t really have adverse effects.
To figure out how many grams of alcohol you consume just track the macros. Alcohol is 7 calories per gram so if the beer is 200 calories with 12g carbs, 0g fat, 1g protein then that leaves 148 calories unaccounted for. That’s about 21g of alcohol.
(I completely made those numbers up so forgive me if they’re absurd for a beer)
I’m sure you know or could figure this out for yourself but for some reason I felt like giving a booze lesson.
Long story short, it’s probably safe to drink as long as you stay under 1 gram of alcohol per kg of body weight. For me this means I can have about 5 oz of rum or other 80 proof booze and stay close to the 0.5g/kg mark.
Sure we can be friends.
Woke at 203.7 lbs, looking good. WTF? Again, not complaining. So far that’s two free passes I’ve had. I’m not going to push my luck.
@painter27 I think so. Now I just have to figure out how to blend the new paint into the old paint over the dining area because they don’t quite match.
@Frank_C thanks for that. I definitely stayed under that limit. All I had was two pints of Monteith’s Dopplebock Dark.
Decided to up my calories to 2900 cal/day. I’ve been coming close to that the last few days and everything seems to be going well so I’ll run with it.
I probably drink too frequently but thanks to T-Nation I rarely drink too much!
Today’s training
Push-ups until my pecs woke up (24, I think)
DB bench
10x30 lbs
10x50 lbs
8x70 lbs
2x10x90 lbs, 6 and 8 RPE
3x8x90 lbs, 8-9, 9 and 10 RPE
Work sets took 15 minutes. Next week 3+x10.
On a side note, got final proof of jackass status of one of the PLers at the gym (nice guy, but a jackass nonetheless): wearing belt, wrist wraps, elbow sleeves and using a mouthguard doing what I think were Tate presses with 25 lbs DBs. WTF.
Decline bench supersetted with strict barbell rows
Bench 3x12x176 lbs - another week then up I think
Rows 2x12, 1x13x209 lbs - this is as strict as I’m going to get I think, so up to 220 lbs at last next week
https://www.instagram.com/p/BdWMleahHpX/
Cable crossovers supsersetted with T-bar rows
Crossovers 3x15x27 lbs - up to 33 lbs next
Rows 3x15x132 lbs - another week or two here
DB tricep rollovers
3x12x25 lbs - usual death
Incline treadmill walk 15 minutes at 5 km/hr
All up done in an hour and 45 minutes
Most likely there’s a slight tint, easiest to paint the whole ceiling. If you have something to match it too you could always take it to the paint store.
This occurred to me
the painting is easy, it’s the sanding that shits me, even with my power sander
Aaaand over budget again. NYE pool thingy at wife’s friends boyfriend’s house. Nothing extreme, just extra meat, and reasonably lean meat at that. So extra protein, a little extra fat. Funny how over Xmas I had zero issues keeping on budget but now not so much. Not that there have been negative repercussions, though, so there’s that.
You’re doing fine Mark.
It’s the hollidays, you’re supposed to go over ![]()
Just go a tad under budget during first week or two of january.
Happy New Year all the best for you and the little family
I call it a win if I can keep the weight gain at our below 5 lbs from Oct 31st to Jan 1st.
I’ll still be hard on myself and try to fight it but it’s not really worth the stress. I know I can drop 5 lbs quickly so it’s not a big deal. I’m feeling like my “before” photos are going to look worse than my pre-op photos from Dec 17th.
Happy New Year everyone!
Woke at 204.2 lbs, some slight bloating and a little softness but that’s about it. Win. Coincidentally also fortnightly measurement time.
Shoulders at armpits 131.5 cm (up 1.5 cm to previous largest)
Chest at nipples 113 cm (up 1 cm)
Waist at navel 96 cm (down 0.5 cm)
Upper arms both 37 cm (up 1 cm)
Thighs both 65.5 cm (up 0.5 cm)
Happy. Everything moving in the right direction.
Happy new year Mark, hope 2018 is a great year for you and your wife. Rob
Happy New Year Mark!
Thanks @littlesleeper you too
