Remember after Scorpion King when he tried to come back? It was a show in Canada. The crowd ate him alive with “movie star” "you sold out and “go away” chants.he had no choice but to leave it was so bad.
Wrestling fans also hate him for creating superface who has 20 finishers and never loses.

Um yea Dolph could’ve gotten a huge push all that year. Wade Barret. Or even Kori. Anyone really. WWE blew off all the future stars for an entire year for one match that was awful.
Cena vs Rock was a terrible storyline and even worse match. Everything about it was lame.

I watched wrestlemania for Taker vs HUH and for because Kane was getting a push at the time.
The only thing that makes Rock special is his Attitude era identity. They could’ve picked anyone from Attitude and threw them in a story with Dena and it would have the same result.
And Survivor Series didn’t have a huge butyrate so Rock is not responsible for last WM success.

Yea there’s money in it. Selling stories is big cash for them. It draws in women and men who care less about athletics and more about theatrics. What do you think the lockout situation was about? Off season ratings.
Of course there is room for staging in NFL and every other sport too. Its not a secret either.
My Bucs are one of the most staged teams in the NFL. No team of professional athletes can be that bad for so long.
