Mark Wahlberg is Max Payne?

Max Payne is probably the first, and only games I have played from beginning to end, and got wrapped up in the story line. Played most of it on the big screen way back in the day. Loved it.

I actually did not hate Shooter, which isn’t something I would normally go for. I think he has good potential but those corny cheeseball action movie one liners of tough talk just wears me thin sometimes.

Lol, what fucking planet are you from? Three Kings was a terrible fucking movie and I’ve never understood why people thought it was anything better than the crusty dog turd that it is. Maybe if it had a better script and Dr. ER was replaced or learned how to play anything than Dr. ER. “My name is George Clooney I speak in the same slow monotonous voice no matter what is going on…wait that’s not true I can smile at teh ladies at least once a movie…I am Batman.”

I think he’ll do fine. This is Max Payne we’re talkin about, after all.

Rewatched the trailer with my brother and noticed the blurb next to it:

“Maverick cop Max Payne (Wahlberg) is hell-bent on revenge against those responsible for the brutal murder of his family and partner. His obsessive investigation takes him on a nightmarish journey into a dark underworld. As the mystery deepens, Max is forced to battle enemies beyond the natural world and face an unthinkable betrayal.”

Maybe not just dream sequences…

That had better be some super-sappy hyperboly.

I liked both games, but not sure about Walberg playing the character.

Too bad they’re not using the actress (Kathy Tong) who played Mona Sax in the video game.

A new Max Payne trailer:

http://media.movies.ign.com/media/150/150748/vids_1.html

looks sick

lots of black leather? check!
guy who’s lost his family wants revenge? check!
unnecessary cgi? check!
-and the list goes on.
looks so yawn it should go straight to DVD.

Live action comic book intro to the movie I guess:

So long as they didn’t pick Nicolas Cage I’m happy. I think Wahlberg will actually do it well.

What if they used Mickey Rourke, like in Sin City?

Wahlberg’s gonna do just fine as Max… It’s Mila Kunis (Who doesn’t neither look or sound like Mona Sax) and the addition of monsters (Seems like a cheap shortcut to add fucking fake gimmick supernatural bullshit to an already great story) I’m not so sure about.

Just got back from seeing this, and I want my 8 dollars back. The monster angels needed to be in there because if they weren’t, the audience would pick up on the fact that the filmmakers didn’t do a very good job of developing the characters and their relationship. I never played the game, and it seems like that was necessary in order to understand what the hell was going on. There was some action, but it was pretty silly.

Frankly I’m getting sick of the video game characters and stories that are adapted for film. They’re all the same- they all act like goddamn robots until it’s time to be pissed off and go into Kill Everyone mode. When are we going someone with some real emotion like Kratos or good ol’ Dante in my avatar? I know, God Of War and Devil May Cry would be extremely expensive to pull off, but I can dream…

Even though I’ve seen Tomb Raider a ridiculous number of times, they even proved with that movie that they can’t seem to either stick to the game format or create a solid character when based on video games. Resident Evil is about as good as it has ever been.

Because of that, I kind of fear how they would fuck up a God of War movie unless someone really took it to the next level.

I think I’ll stick with Marvel movies and the Batman franchise when it comes to what I’ll actually pay for at the theater.

I haven’t heard good things about Max Payne, but I appreciate the review and the warning. I was thinking about seeing tomorrow, but now I’m definitely not going to.

Have you guys seen the “Mark Wahlberg Talks to Animals” clip from SNL a few weeks ago?

Speaking of bad Mark Wahlberg movies, The Happening arrived in the mail today. Can’t wait to watch that. Maybe I’ll enjoy it since my expectations are so low now.

I watched it again. If you can laugh at the dumb shit, it is bad ass comedy.

Thanks for saving me the $23.

Well, I am a fan of unintentional comedy, so I’ll watch it with that perspective in mind.

This “movie” is very, very, bad. I had no reaction what so ever to the plot, the theater was dead silent throughout the entire movie. This happened to me only two times before, the first was during Hero, and the second was during House of Flying Daggers. Those movies had totally different reasons for silence and thats because the audience was awestruck and you could tell because when those movies were over the applause was loud and raucous.

The slow mo scenes were just uninspired and flat. The game was much, much better, the narrative and the dark humor made the game fun to play. There was nothing what so ever that resembled the game I played in this movie with the exception of the character names. Mila Kunis is a hot piece of ass but she is not convincing as a “bad ass”. Mark Whalbereg was TERRIBLE as Max Payne. Avoid this movie at all cost you know a movie is bad when the “demons” who had NO REASON to be in the movie was the best thing about this flick. Marky Mark owes me 23 bucks.

Oh and there was not even a tit to be seen anywhere in the movie. An automatic fail for a movie this bad.

I expected this. PG-13, are you fucking kidding me? I flat out refuse to pay to see any PG-13 movie that should have been rated R.

I can see it for free…and I still have no desire to see it at this point. So is it safe to say that Hitman movie tops Max Payne???
