Maple Syrup Strength (littlesleeper)

Those look like a good bent-over row. That’s impressive control of the weight at such an angle. Good stuff!

I’ve never really paid attention to the difference between Yates, Pendlay, Kroc rows, etc. I just row.

I had to ask about the Kroc rows! I still wouldn’t know what the other two are if I saw them.

And how long did it take you to find those posts in your log lol?

And I still don’t pay much attention. I know what Kroc rows are now (thanks to you and @MarkKO), but I really don’t care about the different types.

Haha!

Surprisingly the search function didn’t return too many hits for “kroc”, so it didn’t take long. I remembered us chatting about kroc rows not too long ago.

I also just got caught back up on your log. I’m glad your surgery went well dude, fingers crossed for a speedy recovery! (and hopefully you can get your hands on some more details of what they found in there!)

One of my favorite parts in Jim’s new 531 book concerning rows, something along the lines of “Just grab a weight and row it. I don’t know when this became so complicated.”

I think the only reason I detail which type of rows I’m doing is so I can track the weights used.

I think I asked about them because I feel inferior when I see the weights you’re using. I wanted to know that you were using body english or “cheating” so I didn’t feel so bad about myself!

Haha, well don’t worry, your buddy Lee Boyce just wrote an article whining about leverages so that should help your ego  :stuck_out_tongue:

He’s not wrong! And that’s an older article. As I was reading it I realized I’ve seen it before.

Did you see that he suffered a bilateral patellar tendon rupture earlier this year? Both tendons snapped at the same time as he went up to catch an alley oop in a pickup game.

My hip recovery is going to be easy compared to that.

Well I took a couple pictures yesterday morning since I’m not sure that I’ll be able to over the next few days as I’m staying at the In-laws. I weighed in at 214.2lbs (so much for losing a few lbs before the new year). So here is my starting point. Thanks again for putting this on @Chris_Colucci

Hey Duke Merry Christmas to you.
I know  I have been thinking about that for a time.
I think reading you guys logs is fun and rewarding, but my own log. Maybe. I got it on the phone and is pleased with that.
I would put on the new years “to do” list.

Merry Christmas Y’all! @duketheslaya @mortdk

Slipped in a quick workout between Christmas gatherings today. Fueled by plenty of sweets and treats.

DE UPPER
BANDED BENCH PRESS (Blue Mini Bands - Doubled)
45 x 3
135 x 3
185 x 3
205 x 3 x 9sets

The blue bands provide quite a bit more resistance than the red bands that I have been previously using for bench. They felt good though. Bunch of band pull-aparts and shoulder dislocates between sets.

YATES ROWS
245 x 8
245 x 8
245 x 8
245 x 8

DB TRICEPS EXTENSIONS

I’m going to try to get a quick one in tomorrow morning as well before making the trip to Florida! Bulking until Jan 8th!

I think I just destroyed any progress I made cutting after Halloween. To recap, I gained 10 lbs in September and cut back to 220 for surgery on Wednesday. After today I feel like that cut was a waste of time!

Enjoy America while you’re here! We’re happy to have you!

Haha nice! Well at least you made progress in the first place, so those aren’t an ADDITIONAL 10lbs. Also, you can afford to gain a few lbs and your excuse is pretty valid.

Enjoy the holidays, I’m looking forward to visiting 'murica.
