Thats awesome you found a gym, with a real reverse hyperextension machine!!!
How is Halifax?
Halifax is amazing. The pubs and bars have amazing live music and were a blast. Thanks for asking!
I was happy to get a solid workout in while I was here. Iām not looking forward to stepping on the scale when I get home! oh well
If I liked your house then Iād definitely try to work the home gym into my offer. You just gotta find the right buyer.
I know I was almost hopeful that would happen so that I could get all new stuff!

I did 345 x 5 x 5 last week so figured Iād add a rep to each set. It was work, but reps were strong and fast.

8mins EMOM LOG VIPER PRESS
155 x 3
This whooped my ass. I had planned on some bis/tris but I just sat on my bench for 10mins and stared after this was over. Conditioning could use some work.
Sounds like a brutal session!
Looks like a good workout!!! After a little holiday-thats great!
I think I just need to be a professional athlete. I want to run as I gain weight so my joints and tissues can adapt as I go instead of getting cranky down the road.
I want to do barbell complexes, EMOM, or WOD type stuff as well.
But I still want to get big and strong.
There arenāt enough hours in the day to train all of thisā¦or recover.
Those log vipers caught up to me quick! They felt great though and Iām feeling them in my traps today (which is awesome, bring on the trap DOMS).
Thanks! Mixing up my accessory work in something different made this a fun one. Sweating out the holiday indulgences.
Haha, yea I hear ya. Powerlifting is definitely my main focus until at least after my competition, so conditioning is pretty low on the priority list at the moment.
After my competition my conditioning will bump up a bit just from using my strongman implements more often once the weather is nicer.
Donāt underestimate how important conditioning is in powerlifting. If a meet runs fast, youāll be glad to have decent conditioning. Itās also a big help in terms of recovery.
I suppose. Iāve never done a meet before (or even a mock meet for that matterā¦since high school), so I was just picturing 9 lifts and how could that possibly require conditioning. But these are 9 near max or max lifts that really take a lot out of you, plus ample warmup, workup sets before even hitting the platform.
That being said, my conditioning isnāt horrible compared to the regular crowd, but definitely not to where I have had it in the past.
On another note, a used Rogue Yoke just popped up in my neighbourhood for $575. I have been contemplating one for awhile, so this would definitely be a nice little savings (and possibly negotiate down further).

Good little workout. Hoping this twice a week benching will get my bench numbers moving (been stuck at 375lbs now for over a year).
A yoke would be a pretty sweet home gym addition.
Absolutely! Unfortunately it is the Y2, so it wonāt be fitting in my basement (of my old house or new). But if our move goes through we are considering building an insulated garage (with heat) so this might just mean my gym moves to the garageā¦Our garage will dwarf our house.
Man that sounds pretty legit. I would be totally jealous of you haha. Detached garages are awesome, you could put the gym in there and all the extra stuff, then actually park in the house garage.
Itās all dreams at this point, but Iām staying optimistic about it. Time to dig myself into a little extra mortgage debt. Iām currently looking into in-floor heating for the garage.
We currently do most of our entertaining in the garage, so the insulation/heating would at least be warranted beyond just my gym. (read: wife is also on board with the idea)
If the wife is on board, you better run with it haha. I cant speak on heated floors as we live in Tennessee, so our winters here are very mild. But that would be cool for sure.

Well I was supposed to go pick up the yoke tonight but the guy āhad to work late and will let me know when he is available nextā. I hope it doesnāt fall through, I run into this issue a lot buying from local used sites!

135 x 5
185 x 5
225 x 3
275 x 3
315 x 3
375 x 5 x 5sets
All sets felt strong. Not easy, but all reps were clean. Looking forward to trying this with 405 on my back in just over a week!
LAT RAISES
20lbs x 20 x 3sets
AB WHEEL
3 standing then 5 from knees
10 from knees
10 from knees
Wow, standing ab wheel SMOKES my abs. They were instantly sore from just 3 reps.
Some shoulder pre hab work mixed in.
I HATE this.
I want the sale to work out because I think the yokes look cool and want to hear your report
No yoke = no joke - sorry could not resist!
Howās the house selling going?
