A couple typical dinners that I’ve been having. I just picked up 8lbs of fish and 20lbs of chicken breast. Operation ā€œGet Leanā€ is underway.

Well crap, I was wrong (what else is new). I was expecting to see under 214.0lbs today. I stepped on the scale several times as it kept jumping from 213.4lbs to 214.0lbs at the last second before registering the weight. I’m looking a little tighter and feeling less fat, so that’s gotta count for something(?). So 214.0lbs for another day.

On another note, my real estate agent is coming over on Saturday to help us stage our house and then Sunday will likely be the taking the pictures for the posting. Exciting and stressful time right now, trying to handle a lot of moving parts. We still haven’t even confirmed things with our new house yet (builders are on vacation until early April) but we want to be able to pull the trigger when they return and not miss this opportunity. So at this rate, I could simply be setting ourselves up for some part-time homelessness.

A little meal prep from last night:

Lmao!! This is what I did last summer. Wife was super cranky.

Haha, glad I’m not the only one who has been in this situation.

Fortunately I’m surrounded by family and have been given the green light to be a squatter for a bit. I’m still hopeful that the timing will work out. By the time the house actually hits the market, receives an offer, estimated ~60day closing period, etc. it may line up nicely with the new place. Fingers crossed! Now I just have to dig into the details of porting our mortgage over to the new residence and try not to get boned too hard by our broker.

Good luck, moving is never fun!!! House market is messed right now, hope you get what you need from the sale!
Good looking eats there!

I had the same thought… but then our house sold and closed in 24 days.

Good luck. I finally found a broker I liked, after interviewing a few. It can be extremely frustrating if they are shady mothers who try and hide things form you and day ā€œit’s very complex and nuanced, we didn’t want to confuse youā€.

Thanks @littlelee. Absolutely the house market is nuts at the moment. My realtor is hoping to beat the spring rush of houses being posted and eek a little more out of the sale. He is also a buddy, so there is a level of trust there!

@dchris - Yes, they have been decent to deal with so far (as in the terms of our current mortgage), but this will be the true test to see how they handle this move! I am lacking the patience to be dicked around at the moment, so I hope they are prepared to deal with an angry (Canadian-Angry, figured I should clarify) customer if things don’t go exactly how I want them to go.

@FlatsFarmer - Haha! I was actually reassuring my wife it would all be worth it last night by saying: Reading on the dock, soaking up the sun. Reading on the dock, soaking up the sun. lol

I got my OHP done last night with some chins sprinkled it. I’ll be finishing the workout tonight but I had a family birthday dinner to go to.

Custom W2D2
OHP
45 x 5
95 x 5
135 x 5
185 x 3
205 x 3
225 x 3 ← Felt a little smoother than last week. First rep was just has hard as the 3rd.
135 x 10, 10, 10

NG Chins in Between Sets of OHP
8reps x 7sets

Dinner was a snack buffet:
Deli meat and cheese
Tostitos and 3 layer chip dip
Shrimp
Veggies an dip

  • I didn’t have any booze or cake/ice cream.

Still woke up this morning at 215.2lbs with the snacking sitting a little heavy this morning. Time to start moving into a slightly more aggressive strategy (ie. adding moderate cardio).

Dieting is hard… haha

Very true. I still can not relate to people who have issues putting on weight or say eating is hard. Not much brings me the level of enjoyment that eating does.

Salt bloat. No worries; it’ll be gone in a day or two of normal eating.

Are you waiting to see if your program is a success before you name it? ā€œCustomā€ just seems to be lacking enthusiasm LOL

Haha, well it is currently just acting as a 2 week filler program until I start my 12 week program that @BOTSLAYER wrote out for me. It is more dialed in and focused around my first powerlifting competition in 12 weeks. I wrote this with the intention of running for a cycle or two but now that the actual date of my competition was announced I guess you could say I’ll be ā€œtraining with a purposeā€.

Crappy name, try again.

I added a tracking pages and an attempts page too!!! If you see anything else on my pages or other pages you want let me know!! Or any questions etc.

Thanks man! I had actually downloaded the spreadsheet and added a page for my REP Prs through the program. That attempts page is helpful though giving me a better idea of attempt selection.

What does the HYPO 1RM (only 10 reps count) mean/represent?

Also, do you have any thoughts on me training conventional vs sumo? I like the idea of building strength with conventional and then displaying it maximally with sumo. But I should probably make sure that my form is nailed down so I should include some specificity at some point. Would I switch to sumo during the peaking period after doing the blocks with conventional? Maybe it doesn’t matter that much?

Custom W2D2 Part 2
Just finishing up a little work I cut short from yesterday’s session.

DB Bench
50 x 10
70 x 10
90 x 10
100 x 8
100 x 8
100 x 4 ← I’m not very strong with DB bench, but boy do they pump up my pecs. I should really start using these as an accessory more often

Yates Rows
135lbs x 25, 20, 20, 15, 20

Took a note from Botslayers recommendation of keeping reps high for accessory work and wanted to hit some high rep rows. Nice forearm, bicep, trap and back pump here.

Bunch of banded/broomstick shoulder stuff throughout. Nice quick session.

1RM calculator gives a hypothetical 1RM. Most of them dont allow for reps after 10 to be calculated and some do. (That note is left over from my sheets and now it seems pretty redundant LOL)

Pretty much what you said and this is how I do that…(well not me because my immobile butt doesnt sumo pull hahaha)

Do your warmups sets with both Conv and Sumo and work up to a couple singles with Sumo and then the volume work with Conventional.

My theory is Conv is a longer ROM so more muscles and strength built but by keeping the Sumo singles in there you maintain (perfect) that form. Once again the same thing you said.

When the peaking starts drop the Conv altogether.

Edit: that last workout 1s to 80-85% should be like RPE5. If that is only 50% of 1RM then so be it and dont let the CNS drain get to your head. It will be recharged by Game Day.
