Man's Best Friend!

Belle, our 1.5 year old miniature dachsund. Really manly dog, huh? In reality, she loves playing fetch more than any dog I have ever seen. She loves chasing down her tennis balls, then bringing them back and waiting attentatively for me to throw it again. If I don’t throw it again fast enough, she continually puts it closer, eventually putting it my hand, lap, or on my chest. She is crazy! She also thinks she is much bigger than she is, and will pick fights with dogs 5 times bigger.
My wife and I are test driving a dachshund this weekend. We might take him (year and a half) from a friend that is getting divorced. As far as small dogs go, I always thought they were cool. The only thing that worries me is my dog outweighs him by about 100 pounds. Cool dog you got there.

Tyler. This dog is incapable of not retrieving something thrown to him. Its almost like hes been genetically designed to retrieve things. Crazy.
Awesome dog. I’m adding Yellow Lab and Boxer puppies to my house this Spring.

Should be a handful…

Yoshi, 9 mounths old.

Our Italian greyhound Vinny and our late Greyhound Tony.

Our other Italian greyhound Mikey. We call this the “Where’s Waldo?” Pic.

These dogs are hysterical! Forgive me I had to share one more… this is just one of the many ways I find these dogs sleeping. One day I walked in and found this… it was to good to pass up. LOL

both Jed (100-lb black lab/pit mix) and Rudy (55-lb boxer/pit mix) are boyz that my wife and i rescued; Jed, was 2 1/2, and a total mess when we got him back in 2001, and Rudy was 1 1/2 and equally messed-up when we rescued him from the pit-bull rescue, back in 2005.

both are walking poster children for how pit bull/pit bull mixes are EXCEPTIONALLY well w/ people and children…assuming, the dogs, like people, are raised in the correct environment and know who the alpha is in their pack.

like anyone that responded to this link, i could go on and on about my 4-legged children, but, as the rest of you have also done, I’ll spare ya’ll the stories that ring of obnoxious fatherly pride

thanks for the link - chris

Just had to include my little girl, Riley.

This is my beloved Kelly.

I lost her about a month ago. This thread brought tears to my eyes.

classic!

Our newest little buddy Oliver. A Papillon/Maltese. 5 months old

This is Bo at about 7 weeks. He’s around 7 months now. He’s an Australian Shepherd.

Here is a close up of my little buddy Jasper. He is 10 years old now! The Ex didn’t want him, she said he was a PITA.

Last May while we were seperated and I was living in an apartment, she calls me up and tells me that she is fed up with him and come get him. I really wanted him, so I went and got him from her and we have been together ever since. 10 years ago, she raises a big stink and has to have a tiny toy poodle, goes and gets him, and never did a damn thing with him. I trained him, walked him 2 times a day every day, and feed him really well, good healthy stuff including fish oil.

She fed him table scraps and chicken all the time, and then gets pissed when he got the shits and craps on the carpet!!

Funny how after she was gone, and it was just him and me, all his bad and neurotic behavior stopped? Something to be said for a stable environment, regular exercise, and a healthy diet!

He is easily the smartest dog I have ever been around and I swear to god that he gets smarter as he gets older, and he understands complete sentences.

And just like the other folks in this thread, neighbors hear me talking to him all the time, and think I’m nuts!! Like I care?

He is so damn cute!!

Jasper stole my heart and now I’m really partial to small dogs!!

Hey Guys,
thanks for all the pictures. I am sure this helps brighten a lot of peoples days and also helps guys who have lost their dogs.
Here is a new one that just came in today:
p.s. please let irish muscle know how much of an asshole he is with his worm thread. It was completely unecessary and anybody who cares about dogs should be disgusted with him.

Dude, you have seen my dogs, right? Put together, all 4 of them maybe weigh what your dog does.

Speaking of which, if anybody outside my household ever heard me talking to them they’d think I was an insane fruitcake.

NTTAWWT…

LOL, I know exactly what you mean man. After we first got our dog, he was up on the couch laying on me. I said to my wife, “do you think other guys let their dogs do this?”

haha, real manly!
Sorry to say, once again I got ya beat:

We actually provide little steps near both of our sofas and our bed so our little runts can get up on them.

Every now and then we make them earn their keep and yank their tails or do something to piss them off so they attack our hands. Nothing, I mean nothing is funnier than a 6 pound chihuahua growling and bearing its teeth in a low attack stance.

This is Pepper. 4 mth old mini dachshund.

I also have a Rottweiler, J-dog, but no pics.

They’re best mates - same colour at either end of the size spectrum.

Here’s my dawg–Samson!
He’s about 6 months here. Vicious. He’ll tear you limb from limb!

I realize that this is not the T-Man type of dog, but here is Tikka:

what an awesome thread! Such cute dogs! This is DJ and my avatar is the late, great Marco.
