Read this morning, pretty cool. He did hit a girl… which was bad, but he was drunk. What he did after that was pretty amazing.

What’s cool about the article is that the police did a good job arresting him after he pulled out the taser and asked if that’s all they had. I’m sure they could’ve shown him their 9mm and seen if he could stop those with his gut.
With all the press the police get when they fail to do their job properly, we should give them credit when they do.
As for the man himself, anyone who - drunk or not - hits his fiancee is a cowardly dirtbag in my book and should be ashamed of even calling himself “a man.”
This is one of many reasons why I don’t drink…not to excuse the man’s actions.

In Canada it is assault whether you are hitting the same sex or not. But you still get looked down upon if you are a man hitting a women. Usually the cops beat you up if they can get away with it.

How come people are striving to give women and men equal rights, but we have to open doors for them, and if they open it for us we look like pussies?

Men and women still are not equal in society. White male privilege continues to exists, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that men have it easy.

White male privilege is a result of the way in which social institutions are set up so that white men benefit most, and women and other races are at a disadvantage. One example of this could be the overrepresentation of men in politics.
But…I wouldn’t worry too much about it. All these things related to the social sciences are useless anyway. (Yes, I’m making a reference to that old thread) Plus, I’m not going to play the game where we argue over whether or not men and women are equal, deserve to be equal, or if equality is even possible.

This is my first day on this site so I don’t know what previous thread you’re referring to, and your mind seems to be already closed to any other point of view so I will not bother wasting my time.
