^I lived in Cali for 12 years btw … I still can’t believe you’re at it
Honestly I think any woman who wears open toe shoes should paint their toe nails. I mean c’mon, plain uncolored toes just screams “I DON’T CARE” and it looks horrible…
Wait… WTF were we talking about again?
^I tend to agree
Holy shit a flying pig!!

There’s an ex-pro wrestler who lifts at the gym I work at who rocks a fanny pack. He couldn’t be a nicer guy. Also, he’s at least 6’5" and 300+lbs of muscle and his wife is fine as fuck. In his case it’s allowed.
LOL, yes at that size you can do whatever the fuck you want.
Shit The Rock almost makes a tutu look masculine.
Haha, the Rock makes terrible movies but I’ll watch most of them 'cause the Rock is in it. That says a lot. Don’t remember the guys wrestling handle but as big as he looks, he’s even bigger when you stand next to him. His hands are easily bigger than my head. He also inclines the 125’s for sets of 15+. Did I mention his wife is fine as fuck?
In conclusion, if you’re that size you can pretty much wear whatever you want and no one can say shit, unless it’s behind a keyboard several hundred miles away.
I wanted to point out that the term “fashion forward” is fucking ridiculous. It’s like a passive aggressive jab at straight guys who don’t want to dress like a homo. There is nothing “fashion forward” about carrying a purse.
It doesn’t make one look “hip” or “trendy”, it just makes you look ridiculous in the worst possible way. And, it has nothing to do with insecurities over my sexuality. I have diamond earrings in each ear. I’m straight. I wear them because I like them. I would never wear a satchel, or knapsack, or fashion forward bag or any other silly buzzword you can come up with to describe a man purse because it just plain looks stupid.

you should’ve put “unless I was Indiana Jones” and then I would’ve agreed with you 100%.
So I guess I’m saying I agree with you 99% since you left out “unless I was Indiana Jones”.

I like both bags you’ve posted, although the distressed black one looks a little cheap.
I think for those of us who must go business casual, a briefcase is too formal, a backpack too informal, and a laptop bag too nerdy. The sling bag has been popular for quite a while. Dunno why people are making a big deal out of it now (or ever).
I wish I had a better picture, it’s actually really nice.
Black distressed leather, sells for 60 pounds or something like that from Tontojacks in the UK.
It’s more casual than business but the distressed look is great.

You are entitled to your opinion, it’s not like a give a flying fuck who uses a messenger bag and who doesn’t.
Fashion forward is a term we use at work, everyday. Nothing passive aggressive about it, we also use the terms contemporary, city, sport fashion etc etc.
I would never suggest some one carry any accessory if it made him feel uncomfortable. Personal style is about finding what looks good on you and what you feel good in. If you don’t like messenger bags, fine but don’t classify them as feminine or gay, because they are not.

I like some of the other ones on that site better, but it’s definitely not bad.
Trying to put a backpack on over a motorcycle jacket is ridiculous. I need to get something. I wonder if I could do white leather…
Other than going to work with a laptop or something, what are most of you carrying around everywhere that you need a man purse anyway?
I keep 4 things on my person at all times:
- Wallet
- Phone
- Keys
- Chapstick
None of this needs a man purse.

Yes, you do. It’s about 10 years behind the rest of the world.
(:

You’re damn right America is behind the rest of the world, 'cuz if the world is becoming gay, America is going to be giving it in the ass, not taking it.
^because they want to keep up with the fashion trends of Europe and like being so fashion forward … duuuuh.

See, this is where you’re wrong. If you were really in tune to fashion, you would know that it is entirely appropriate to use a soft leather briefcase in lieu of a hardbound one if a hardbound makes you look too conservative or formal. There is an acceptable medium between a laptop bag and a hardbound briefcase that does not include a shoulder-strap carryall.
I don’t have a problem with the existence of a carryall. It works well in Europe and the Castro district in SF. But don’t tell me for one second that the briefcase is an old look and that they only radiate over-the-top formality. You can go casual with a briefcase and avoid having to bend to the will of those who would have us believe that if it’s cool in Europe then it has to be cool here, and if it isn’t we’re behind the times. Talk about a lack of individuality.
Also, in a business setting where you are clearly the superior employee (either a supervisor or the boss), anything other than a hardbound briefcase would be inappropriate. Assuming this is some sort of business setting in which you are wearing a suit. I also feel that this is the only time in which it is appropriate to wear a three-button suit, but that’s just me.
But if you show up to a meeting, and you’re the boss, and you walk in with a fucking carryall slung over or across your body, it doesn’t radiate authority; it radiates conformity.
I used to carry a shoulder strap carry all. I commuted to work via train and walking several blocks. Not gonna carry a briefcase and a back pack was inappropriate. I used to see that all over downtown Chicago several years ago when I lived there. I wished someone would have called me a flamer. Having said that, no need for me to carry one outside of work. Wallet, chapstick and rubbers all fit in my pockets.

Again, huge MF’ers can get away with it. You could wear a fanny pack also, don’t make it right.

All time favorite is a belt that had a digital banner going across the buckle! I couldn’t read it tho, I didn’t want to be standing there looking like I’m staring at some guys croch while he passed. So I have no idea what the digi-banner said, but I thought that was the weirdest fashion statement.
