Making Surge Taste Good

Obviously in the minority, but I like it so much that I’ll drink it down, add water to my bottle and drink it again.

I am on the opposite side of the world. I usually can’t even finish the last little bit when it gets thick. I know I sound like a sissy, but I think I should get points for drinking it regardless of the taste =P

As for me being a super taster, I do think I have a more heightened sense than others, though not quite as good as you. I think my tongue is just always in seek and destroy mode for whey, because I can always taste it, no matter what is done to mask it. Though, Classic Grow! does the best job I’ve ever tasted.

I am a picky son of a bitch, making it harder for me to stick with a good diet.

I love the taste of Surge, but I also do not like the foam. I had to learn that it mixes real well, so it does not need to be mixed in a blender, or shaker. It must be stirred with a spoon.

It also needs the water to be as cold as possible. Refrigerated water, or ice water is an absolute must… There are times I placed the water into the freezer, and it was slightly icy by the time I mixed it.

I have actually found myself craving it during the day.

But everybody’s taste does work differently, for example everyone I know loves strawberries, and I find that it tastes absolutely disgusting. I had a cheat day recently, and had pasta. Usually I don’t have desert, but they had creme brulee, and I had never tried it before, so I ordered it just to see what it was like.

Well they decided it would look nice if they put sliced strawberries on top, but never mentioned this in the menu. I was immediately disgusted, scraped off all the strawberries, and practically all the blowtorched top. I wasn’t too impressed with the cup of custard.

I think another flavor of Surge might help some of the people who dislike the taste, plus variety never hurts.

I’m in the middle. I didn’t like it at first. I like it OK now. But I don’t go ape-shit over it like most people here.

My concensus: “it’s OK”.
Just started using Surge and I feel the same way. Tastes like lousy angelfood cake maybe. But every damn time I drink it I think about the post where the guy described it as “the semen of the gods” or something like that - eeeewwwww

Actually I find that adding a tsp of plain creatine helps the taste a little for some reason…

I like the flavor of Surge, just not the foam. The foam can be very bitter.

Many of you might have done this experiment in high school. It was a bitter taste on a piece of blotter paper the teacher would pass around and see how many people could or couldnt taste it for an example of a genetic trait. I could taste the bitter.

This subgroup might be those of us who taste the foam as nasty and bitter.

I agree. First couple times I tried it I had to adjust to the taste but now I love it, foamy head and all.
Am I alone in thinking that a little micronized creatine and a good shake makes this stuff taste fine?

Today I think I perfected the no foam Surge mix.

1)Take a shaker bottle(not to shake but for the strainer you put at the top).
2)Add 2 cups water(not warm but does not have to be chilled)
3)Add 3 ice cubes.
4)Pour Surge into water slowly while stirring quickly in a circular manner so as not to disturb the water. The Surge powder should go to the middle in the vortex almost like it is being flushed in your shake-toilet. =)
5). Put strainer on bottle to hold back remants of ice cubes.
6). Drink

I took the suggestions from the thread and did that today; it was the best I’ve ever gotten Surge to taste. No foam at all.

I don’t know… tastes great, lucky for me. By the end of the workout I’m looking forward to it!

However, to mix it up sometimes I’ll throw a scoop of Power Drive in there with my added creatine. Woohoo, creamsicle!
