Anyone actually done this at trueprotein? looks very interesting if it is for real.
Yeah I made a trueprotein post workout mix… awesome deal man. I got 5 pounds for 18 bucks. Maltodextrin, Dextrose, Whey Concentrate, Whey Isolate, and Creatine. The flavors are less strong than other shakes I’ve had but I don’t like it overwhelming when I’m in the gym.
ok so what would be the ultimate workout drink? (besides the awesome Surge)
I used:
35% Maltodextrin
35% Dextrose
20% Whey Protein Concentrate
5% Whey Protein Isolate Microfiltrated
5% Whey Protein Isolate Ion Exchange
5 Pounds for $17.05… shipping was about $8 though, so next time I’m going to buy like 10 pounds. I only bought 5 in the beginning cuz it was my first order and I wanted to make sure I liked the flavor.
I use
2.5 Scoops of it:
299 calories:
1.5g fat
saturated: 1g
53.5g carbs
sugar: 27g
18g protein
Buy in larger orders to make it worth it.
Malto/Dextrose 50/50 90 grams
WPI 30grams
some BCAAs thrown in for good measure and you have a great PWO shake.
wat bout glutamine? anything else i should throw in? ill prob buy from them a couple weeks from now
I’ve tried those guys before and I only had 2 concerns:
-
Umm, taste was not so good. LOL I understand this comes down to personal preference.

If you are ordering a custom mix, I cannot help but wonder how close to your request the end result truly is. This is not at all a suggestion that they are rigging things, but more that it seems easier for things to go wrong on a single customer mix vs. a formula that is being made constantly for which the process is closer to perfected.

I’d rather trust a place that produces to people’s specifications than some company that claims that X, Y, and Z are in thier product and will make you HYOOOOOGE. Obviously it’s who you feel you can trust though.
hmmm…i think i will give em a go. im thinking of making a special concoction for my second run on the v-diet in november. miscellar casein, bcaas, flax seed powder, creatine powder…cant wait. buy like a 200lb tub of it to last the entire 28 days.
Hey guys,
I was planning of buying 5 pounds of:
30% Maltodxtrin
30% Dextrose
40% Whey Protein Concentrate
If i had more money i would substitute the whey conentrate for 30% hydrolyzed whey, 5%BCAA’s and 5% Glutamine, but I’m 16, and im a student,
Im ordering form australia, and even with huge shipping cost, ITS STILL CHEAP…
ya i already have 2 10 lb tubs planned for my v-diet.
35% whey protein concentrate
35% miscellar casein
20% creatine monohydrate
10% flaxseed oil powder
total is like 160 bucks, which is cheaper than buying the 8-9 tubs of Metabolic Drive i would need for it.

I definitely don’t think you need 20% creatine… that’s just going to get pissed out of you. And the flaxseed oil powder, although convenient, is 16.99/pound which is way expensive compared to buying and adding flax meal yourself. (NOW makes a flaxmeal product you can find cheap on vitaglo).
I’m going to go with something like:
50% micellular casein
15% whey protein concentrate
15% calcium caseinate
20% complete milk diary isolate
This mix comes out to 225 calories for 2 scoops and should be very slow absorbing and provide a fuller feeling than mostly whey products.
Total price: $172.52 versus 11 tubs Metabolic Drive: $285.89
To figure out how much you would need to buy…
You need 10 scoops a day for 28 days = 280 scoops total.
It’s listed as 15 scoops per pound, meanins 280/15 = 18.6666 pounds so round up in case.

I’m with you on that. I think (from my standpoint) I am more willing to pay a few more bucks and get an established product from a reputable company, but that’s not to say you cannot turn out fine the custom route.
