Make the Tax Cuts Permanent!!

I remember reading in an old econ textbook where a very famous economist (Paul Samuelson) had a beautiful chart, showing how by the year 2000, the Soviet Union would surpass us in total output and per capita GNP.

Common sense vs economists? Guess who I’ll choose.

Those people will NOT settle in Rainjack’s area, and as long as we can Gerrymander Austin in with the Valley life will remain unchanged.

So you completely ignore the serious part of my post, and focus on the one single joke I fit in just for measure.

I need to go back to satire, apparently – it’s the only thing that gets an answer around here…[/quote]

His was a joke as well. Redistricting here is a lot like a box of chocolates.

You are, however, trying to see what you want to see. Many people in this country are – and to, some extent, that’s good: being optimistic is needed, especially in times of recession. We need optimists, people who believe in America and what Americans can do. People like you and my late grandfather. However, when it comes to making political decisions, optimism is simply another name for… irresponsibility. So, don’t stop being an optimist – that’s good – but please do realize that at this point, any politician that promises lower taxes – or even making the tax cuts permanent – IS being irresponsible.

We are not in a resession.

I think you are just as guilty of seeing what you want. I see the glass as half full - or better. And you proceed to tell me what the glass is made of because that’s your job, and tell me that the glass while seeming to be full is really almost empty.

I am not making up the economic boom I am seeing.

If it weren’t for those of us out there earning their money the old fashioned way - you would not have anything to forcast, speculate, or pontificate on. But maybe you would be right a little more often.

A weak dollar is like gold to my clients.

But that is not where the boom is coming from. Agriculture will never have that much of an effect on the economy barring a catastrophic disaster.

Of course not. But the boom you are seeing is NOT the full picture – that’s what I am saying.

Absolutely. I believe I was very clear in stating that I have nothing but respect for people who do make money the old fashioned way. We need you to create wealth as much as you need us to leverage it and keep it moving.

I know that, trust me. But it is not for the average American, especially not with the insanely high amount of stuff we import these days.

No, the boom is coming from the recession in the coasts… and guess were most of the population still lives?
