Maintain Wrestling Weight

having a very good wrestler who is certified to wrestle 215. we lift twice a week, but the rigors of daily training is having weight slowly slipping away from him. he started at 208 but currently 3-4 weeks into it is weighing in at 200. i told him to eat and eat etc and he insists he is.

i am recommending glutamine, protein shake (met drive?) and creatine??? agree? disagree? other options? good source or name of creatine? he is a high school sr and very experienced in lifting and wrestling. i would really like to see him maintain a 205 weight and even a bump in strength if possible during the season. thanks

Biotest Creatine + Surge + massive calories day & night.

If he’s having that much trouble keeping weight on, it sounds to me like he needs to be a 189 pounder.

BCAA’s, fish oil and Leucine will all help. Haven’t tried it myself but SURGE Workout Fuel should do be good for this

is 215 the lowest he is certified to wrestle?
If so, than either whoever did the BF test screwed up, or he is just bleeding out water weight. Make sure he gets his gallon per day in

And up the food intake. This site is chock full of mass gaining diets. Stick him on one.

If he can, I would suggest he cuts to 189 unless you already have a wrestler there.

Tell him he should also keep track of his meals via journal and to report back to you at least once a week to look it over. Also, unless you have a decent guy at 189, maybe you should at least have him recertified in case your 189lber gets injured/sick.
