So, in a moment of weakness I ordered a four packages of Mag-10. I am just curious about it, so figured I’d give it a try but I’m not sure how to best incorporate it into my routine.
A typical day:
6 - 7: Coffee/Surge
7 - 8: Train pretty hard (either a Crossfit workout or in my garage)
8 - 9: Whey protein/kefir/blueberry smoothie (about 50g protein)
Lunch: typical lunch of meat, fruit, and nuts
Dinner: typical dinner of meat, salad, and some type of carbs
I’m also 51 but still pretty fit and lean.
Questions/thoughts:
Have it instead of Surge, as I’ve read that Mag-10 is easy to digest and can be used during a workout. Is there a missed benefit of doing this?
Keep everything the same and simply consume Mag-10 right after my workout. I usually have my smoothie about 30-60 min after training.
I’m hoping Mag-10 helps with workout gains and (especially) recovery.
Advice? @Chris_Shugart - you may know the most about something like this.
Option #2 and perhaps move the smoothie between lunch and dinner, although you might feel pretty empty until lunch with this change. MAG-10 does not really provide much satiety.
What about taking some Mag 10 with all your other meals, so the amino acids, peptides and enzymes make the other stuff you’re eating more absorbable and digestible?
The trouble there is that other food is going to slow down the absorption of Mag-10. You really want Mag-10 to hit quickly to spike that protein synthesis.
That’s my understanding as well. So far, I’ve used it twice and had it immediately after the training session. Then, about an hour later, had something more substantial. It tastes like melted jello.
