This kind of stuff is a little funny.

I knew a man when I was a kid who was a concentration camp survivor. Really nice, happy old guy.

My buddy who came back from a thankfully uneventful tour of Afghanistan is a funny guy who loves my little Maltese dogs.

Even my parents who grew up just after the Depression and grew up in Europe during WWII are jolly ol’ folk.
